My stepfather just said he wanted to get me a mini pc. He has one of his own and he has emulated tons of games on it. Thinking about saying yes because it does sound better than emulating on my phone and getting constantly frame drops from doing literally nothing in a PS2 game.

My stepfather has a bunch of Bluetooth controllers. He said he'd give me one. I'm kinda tempted to take his offer if I'm being completely honest.

Sounds like a good deal to me, or are there any reasons why you might decline the offer?
I hate emulating games on my phone aside from like a handful of games because I can't get used to the controls.
I guess there isn't. And you're right, it would beat using my phone. Could probably set up turbo controls to use the exp exploit in persona 2

Well, do you know now?
I said yes. Problem is that it's like 100 bucks or something so it'll be a while. But I guess it'll be worth the wait.

Mini PCs are fantastic for a number of reasons, especially if you can find a decent one refurbed at a good price. Since it would be a gift, you should totally go for it!

You can install Batocera on there and have a simple frontend for tons of retro systems, I use this exact set up on my Sony Trinitron CRT for 240p/480i gaming. An actual controller would be a huge step up from using a phone screen too, opens up a ton of possibilities for you!

I would take it if it's free and no strings attached, which since you said your step-dad I am assuming not. You could probably emulate a lot more on a mini PC, depending on the specs mind you, maybe even up to PS3 and the like. Again, no context and mini PC is fairly vague, for all I know it could be a Dell Wyse system with an Intel Atom.

Assuming this is something decent, you could have it as a RetroArch/Retro PC gaming rig. Or even a full-blown Batocera Linux machine. If nothing else hey, turn it into a media PC.
