I don't think anyone will take Microsoft's place in the Gaming Industry.

Making Linux more welcoming and supported by more games is the main reason I'm excited for these machines to hit the market. If they prove a success, more manufactures will make them and SteamOS will be a solid alternative. Steam Deck is already paving the way.

Fingers crossed I won't have to deal with Windows.
 
The same was said about Sega, and Xbox took its place.

Now I dont think the Steammachine will be "the guy", first because if rumors are true, it will be killed by its own price (again).
 
Valve could if and only if they price the Gabecube right and by that I mean around $500. $800+ is "fuck off" territory.
 
I can't tell if it will be a failure or not, i just hope that if it fails that doesn't affect Steam's prices

Yeah, GOG and even flippin Epic has best deals but they are games that aren't in those
