How you spend your time: old vs modern gaming

How you spend most of the time in gaming? With old or new games?

New games as in new releases.

Nowadays for me its literally Retroarch, Redream & too many non-steam games. so i'm a oldie freak.

for 7th gen I only have access to Wii, DS and PSP while for 8th gen only 3DS and maybe PS Vita too

Old games are my refuge because the prices of games nowadays are too expensive for my country.

I only play 2 "new" games. And I put it in quotes since that "new" means current gen games that released months ago which I just play repeatedly. The only thing new I want to play is the upcoming Resident evil Requiem...and even then, we might wait until a gold edition comes out before buying it.

Everything else is old, emulation, steam or Playstation.

Well I don't have like PS4 or PS5 or like Switch and my pc isn't powerful enough to play those modern games so umm all my games are Retro.

Most of the best games are from then. The Witcher, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, Bioshock...

And if you want something current, you can play indies like Cthulu Saves Christmas.

7th gen and below .

The xbox 360/ps3 had great games on their own . Not the hugest impact but still an impact .

I do both, but a little less on new games.

Most current games don't appeal to me., my backlog is infinite (like bioshock 3) anyway.

Oldest games often treats you as smart person, or at least they don't tell what to do, how to do it, when to do it, all the time.

My PC runs modern stuff but I always end up playing old stuff anyway, even downloading new games takes time as they easily go for 40gb+

My newest game is Zelda TOTK, I'm not interested in new stuff that much but things like Balatro now and then catch my attention

I do both, often keeping both a modern and retro playthrough going simultaneously. Newer games tend to be big timesinks, while classic games are often better for shorter bursts of fun, so I play whichever suits my schedule at the time.

Like now I'm currently revisiting Elden Ring while also playing through classic DOOM wads.

Since I got a game break time, I like to play games that don't take so much of my time away or are Arcade-like (that brings the fun factor very quickly) and frankly, I say older games got this for me, but I do appreciate newer games that are very similar to what I like.
