Serious answer now, I'm not gonna say a number but I think it's gonna go well. Pehaps not as good as Switch 1 but still well.

Personally I think the hardware is interesting, the games shown so far are alright but I still need something to spice it up.

But most of all, I can't wait for the homebrew scene.

I thought that was because they paused pre orders due to tariffs?
not sure about US but my country shit was sold out before Tarriffs came in affect. But yeah they probably now paused to wait and then change the price.

But I say seeing Nintendo fans blow 1000-3000 bucks on old nes/snes games they will blow 1000-2000 just to own a switch. For the same reason I saw people blow 1000-1400 bucks just to own a PS5 when it launched even if it meant buying it from scalpers.

Fans don´t care about money well spent they care about showing support for a company they love and it´s scary to see.

Oh I totally agree that fanboys would blow an insane amount of money because they're spineless dumbasses. They would buy it then wonder why companies feel comfortable charging more.

Hopefully not enough so the prices drop, but let's be real, it probably wont happen and the sells will keep justifying the prices. It's interesting how overall consumers have less critical thinking as time goes on

Hard to say, but I genuinely think the prices and boycotts might actually affect Nintendo this time. It's not like Pokemon where 90% of buyers are children and shills so boycotting becomes useless, it's a price gate that quite a lot of people are upset about to the point it's making headlines. Do I think it's doomed to become a second Wii U, lmao no, but it is something to note.

This means that it will sell a Mariollion dollars.

The diehard nintendo fans will toss their money at the switch and it's games no matter what they cost tbh. I think even the ones mad about the price will still end up buying it, nintendo has impressive brand loyalty.

True, especially in Japan. It's very culturally entrenched there.

Probably around a million and a half to start off.

I'll expect the numbers to die down with the initial hype, then resurface a little as more titles get announced. Christmas season is gonna be intense.

But I can about guarantee that a lot of the first ones are gonna go to unboxing YouTubers lol.
