Joking aside, I have three nice, fairly firm pillows, but sometimes I just sleep without one, depending on whether I fall asleep reading or not, honestly.

Nope! I just feel more comfortable sleeping on the ground!
Actually sleeping on the ground is pretty common where i live.
We usually use a soft mattress beneath us... but i can sleep without it too!

Because of my chronic neck problems, for long time I used to use two orthopedic pillows, but then I discovered the French "traversin," which is a sort of sausage-shaped pillow, and I haven't been able to do without it since...just one, that is
