How many of you have failed to buy something that you want?

Way back, I didn't manage to get Mega Man X 3 and Chrono Trigger for Christmas because they'd fly off the shelves. In retrospect it was at least half of a good thing, as vanilla X 3 is pretty bad.

Could never buy a Gameboy Color — there was always someone outbidding me for it >.<

The Handy Boy attachment for Game Boy. I used to own one as a teenybopper but lost it in a move.

Awe! If it wuz' me, I wouldn't out bid you! I'd be like, "It's yours!"

Never really had spending money as a kid so never really bought stuff.

Nowadays, when I fail to buy something, it's usually out of my own indecisiviness lol. "Do I reeeeally need another PS2 console?" "Do I reeeeeally need to buy this game even though I could download it?" "How about this tiny CRT- oh shoot, it's already gone!"
Worst example of this was when I saw a Dreamcast at a Value Village like 5 years ago, thinking I didn't need a 2nd one, but then someone else got it mid-thought. That was an A+ failure right there haha!

I'm still on Yakuza 0, I couldn't get 3 Remastered before it was doomed to the $120 paywall mines

When I was younger I really wanted this copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 that someone was selling on eBay.

...it was £15000 though, so I had to give it a miss. 😂

I always wanted a Saturn when they first came out but ended up getting a Playstation instead when Final Fantasy 7 came out. I did eventually buy a Saturn last year.

It's not like I can even if I wanted to.

I wanted a capture card since I bought my PS4 in 2015, but all these years couldn't justify buying one. Rescently I've found couple good deals though (because now the one I wanted is old and pretty cheap) so maybe its time to make a dream come true, idk ::cirnoshrug

Past year Sonic Frontiers was in a whooping 90% discount, at that time the game was still 1000 pesos, i really wanted to buy it, but money was short and i needed to buy more important things, so while i finally got 100 bucks, the offer ended, may getting it again now that it permanently is down to a more manageable 350

Brother I'm still trying to get a proper PC, just have other priorities. And right now is the worst time to try to get one or put one together. Think this is too common though

Little things I've been putting off that i want/to keep me busy
Perler bead art - Beads, Boards, Tape, ironing paper
CRT Adjsutments - USB to TTL serial adapter, Colorimeter, Degaussing Coil
Room Decoration- Impact Driver, Shelves, Corkboard, etc

I really wanted Sonic crossworlds recently on sale, but money is very tight at the moment, so I guess I'll be waiting to get that one ::sailor-embarrassed

There's been games I missed out on when I was kid, but I can play all of those now via emulation ::hellmo

Turbografx-16 Mini. I saw an article they were being dumped on Amazon JP along with the PC Engine Mini, and despite my strong want to purchase this item I waited. And waited. Now some of this idleness was due to my reluctance to buy from Amazon JP due to my inability to explain to the people in my life why this is possible (and why it's different than buying from native Amazon US) and the rest was down to pure lack of funds. When I circled back around later, this time with enough money, the price was so high it made zero sense (I am not a collector).

This was of course all my own fault, but I guess at this point I am over it. At the time I was kind of obsessed with owning all those old games (many of which I had physically or on Nintendo VC) so I could play them legally, and now I've made peace with the fact that I don't really have an issue playing those games other ways. Though if Konami actually released some sort of compilation on Steam or Switch (or even better, GoG), I would snap it up in a heartbeat

MGS 5 of all games, I have still not finished MGS 4 because my PS3 is in the attic and I have no TV at my bedroom at the moment. MGS5 I lost all the sales and I really don't want to play because the mods don't work with piracy, it is such a shame I must give money to Konami, they really don't deserve a penny.

I had Suikoden II in my hands (at Circuit City) contemplating whether to buy it or not.
