Same, bright lights too (my eyes hurt when it's too sunny or too bright), and I hate a lot of very specific sensations (usually things I touch).

Well, judging by our posts here I'd never know that anyone was autistic. My niece can say words but has difficulty putting them together. Her doctor has her on Adderall and 4mg of Risperidone daily.

the fact she has been diagnosed couldn't be more important. hopefully she gets the appropriate support she deserves and lives a fulfilling life on her own terms. i grew up trying to meet unrealistic expectations of myself, i hope future generations wont have that same burden.

Had I been diagnosed or assisted as a kid I’d have been told I have Asperger’s, by the time I was assessed I was told I have lvl 1 ASD. There have been many days where “lower support needs” would have sounded like a damn lie.

I’m very happy with who I am and where I’m at in life, but I always laugh when I see those memes about “how’s it going being one of the 10% (can’t remember the number that was being thrown around) of employed autistic people”. BROTHER IM FAMILIAR WITH WHY ITS SO DAMN HARD ILL TELL U THAT

Also I mean this with literally nothing but boundless love but this forum is absolutely busting at the seams with Aspies

I myself have ADHD though i've learned to deal with it slowly over the years, getting easily irritated has always been the most prominent issue for me, though issues with attention did end up with me being a drop-out, its not world ending and i'm thankful to not have it worse!

My best friend is autistic but it just ended up with him liking sonic the hedgehog a little too much, hes cool tho

Knew a friend in HS who had autism, I treated them like shit and really made it worse for them in the long run but it’s helped me realise my own flaws and how to treat people with conditions like that.

I currently have a little brother figure who has a mild case of it, he’s my world and I've done everything I can to play with him.

Nothing for myself, but my wife is diagnosed with ADHD type C. My oldest son is diagnosed with ADHD and my youngest son was diagnosed by a neurologist with level 2 autism. It's rough. I'm sure I have something, but I haven't been to a specialist to find out. Being a healthcare professional I don't walk around self-diagnosing. We can do that all day. It's better to let the experts find out first. However, knowing what the signs are is the first step to getting any help you need.

All three of them have gotten the help/programs they need and are doing well.
