I remember I wanted to have a extensive blu-ray library back in the day so as soon as I started having my own money, I bought some blu-rays.

Not really much but I must have something about 20 blu-rays, anime movies.

I think the crowning jewel of my collection is the international Deluxe Ed for Time of Eve, very underrated anime

whoa.. I have 8... mostly movie reissues and trigun movie and attack on titan season 1... compared to hundreds of dvds and vhs

Huh, less than 10. Swear I had more...
One of them is still sealed (Humanity has Declined, which i have watched elsewhere). Ghibli films make up the collection, the higher bit rate is a must for their releases.

same here.. I thought I had more

I have a few blu rays, including Training Day, The Prestige, and Apocalypto, but I think my favorite is FF7 Advent Children Complete.

That's a nice collection btw.

I think like 15 or so? Only really started seriously getting into BDs recently.

I've never owned any blurays. I'm not even sure if I've ever actually watched one. I've never owned a bluray player or a console with one built in. By the time blurays came out I was pretty much just downloading anything I wanted to watch. I used to have a decent sized DVD collection though. I'd always hit up the bargain bins and stuff for anything that looked decent but I eventually ended up using them all as shooting targets except for the ones that were actual good movies or ones I'd gotten as gifts and stuff like that. I also kept all my concert DVDs. I've have a lot of those.

One. I can't remember if it was when I pre-ordered Dead Rising 2 or Dead Island back in the day, but they just gave you a Blu-Ray copy of Zombieland free with whichever one for some reason.

It also played in black and white (maybe because I was using an SD television at the time, no idea) so I just left it on the shelf forever.

I started my collection of these today after buying them at a con.

Martian Successor Nadesico
Bubblegum Crisis
Full Metal Panic!
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid
Gunbuster
Diebuster
Patlabor: The Movie
WXIII Patlabor the Movie 3
Lupin III Part 6
Hidemari Sketch & Nobunaga the Fool (i was given these for free)

I have 0. I have watched them before but don't see much of a difference, certainly not big enough to replace all my DVDs with them so I just never bothered and my viewing didn't suffer and the world kept spinning.

My roommate and I buy them for eachother for birthdays/holidays, so between us we have probably like 30 or so. They can be really hit or miss, some upgrade visual quality on older films so much that it's almost unbelievable. I appreciate them for preservation purposes, they give a financial incentive for those projects to be released to wider consumers and not just to film archives.
