PS4 How long before Sony puts the PS4 out of service?

i mean, considering the ps3 servers are still up and running, i'd say you have around 5-10 years time to enjoy the ps4's services

It'll be a long time -- especially since it seems like this generation will last a while longer than expected due to increased costs. Since PS3's still online, you'll be good for 10-15 years.

Sony is already killing the PS4. They have severely limited making new physical releases of games, and online service games (e.g., Genshin Impact, Final Fantasy XIV) are dropping support this year most likely forced by Sony.

I think you'll be ok if you don't mind playing single player games. For online titles, you'll probably have to content yourself with older titles assuming you get PSN+

Oh...make MP free...if they did that, people would purchase PS4, buy cheap online titles and maybe skip PS5. And I'm sure Sony doesn't want that. I sure would love it if they did that.

Not for a long while. PS5 only just eclipsed the PS4 userbase like 6 months ago. Its still an extremely popular platform and unlike their prior consoles (especially the PS3), it's relatively easy to port PS5 games to it thanks to the similar architecture.

If the PS3 can still have its store up (even though it barely functions at this point), then the PS4 should be fine.

I actually play Genshin and the reason is more down to the increasing CPU requirements and update size limits than any interference from Sony. The game is already pretty CPU bound and the lowest end smartphone that Genshin supports has a faster CPU than the PS4.

The PS4 it's still gonna be around for a long while. They have too much of an install base to cancel it too early like they did with PS3 and PS2.
