We are entering 2026... I have been here for more than a year already! ::fire
I still remember my early days here... i was so shy and vulnerable... people here kindly supported me and helped me to gain confidence! 😊
I personally thank all users of RGT for being so awesome! 🌟

I think RGT helped me a lot to grow as a person...
I heard different opinions, saw different ways of thinking, met people from different cultures...
It helped me to become more patient and understanding, while upholding my own values.
Also, i learned more about myself too... both my weaknesses and my strengths.

For me, every day in RGT was like a trial... whether peaceful days or days of dramas.
My main goal always has been to do the best i can under all situations... i know i'm far from my ideal version and even failed miserably at times... but i will keep trying and won't give up! ::alucard

How about you?
Has RGT helped you as a person?
Were its effects on your personality positive or negative?

For someone who doesn’t have any social media account RGT made me more sociable person online. I owe a great deal of thanking to a lot of people here for welcoming to their online life.

I don’t know if it’s the people or the environment but this place has a certain magic into it. A magic powerful enough to transform this shy dork to someone who sometimes shamelessly posts some corny jokes, memes, some whacked out poetry from time to time and probably the peak is me posting some articles. A feat that I for never imagined doing online.

And yeah this place changed me in ways I could never never imagine.

I love here it's so rare to find a friendly forum this days because of nosy toxic fandom and this website it brings back my joy on gaming again after a two years of feeling down.

I am happy to be here

I don't think it has really changed me at all. I enjoy it, and that's enough. Maybe it makes me slightly less cynical seeing how people generally get along here and that people seem to have made legitimate friends. It does make me nostalgic for the bonds I made with friends on forums in a past lifetime, and even a little nostalgic for the faces I saw when I first joined that have either left or become inactive.

I've always been someone that usually keeps to themselves, but RGT had given me the opportunity to share and discuss some things I like with other likeminded people, so for that I'm grateful. idk if it's changed me, but I would miss it if it where gone.

When the forums were still popular I didn't have a PC so I completely missed that era of the internet. RGT is a good opportunity for me to get some of that experience. Its also great to have a platform where nobody's trying to start a fight with the lowest hanging rage bait possible. Yeah it happens even here from time to time but at least its not encouraged and gets shut down pretty fast. So yeah, its been cool to jump into a random thread and share your thoughts on the topic or read what others have to say. In these times when social media paradoxically feels more isolating than connecting, RGT became a cool place to visit.

It's kept my wallet heavier by giving me another source of free games

More seriously, I've made a ton of friends here and gotten to do a great deal of fun stuff together with them. RGT played a pretty big role in expanding my social circle, and I really appreciate it for that.

Like some users mentioned, i too have missed the chance to experience any other online social before RGT... but i don't feel any regret, since my experience here has been so great! 🌟
RGT is the first community for me... and so it has a special place in my heart... and i don't think any other site in the future can affect me the same way that RGT has affected me.

I know we have users with way more online experience, and i can imagine that they feel much differently about being here than me.
Also, we have many users that this site is their first forum.

I love this diversity, and that's more reason that i created this thread, so we can all share our experiences! 😊

I'm not sure things are so deep for me, but when reading some articles about personal experiences I felt less "lonely" (in the sense you understand lots of people often carry heavier burdens than you).

I've been here from almost the beginning and I'm happy I found a place to not only get nice games but also to talk about them (in real life I can't).

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Net neutral.

Just another website, at least I can feed my narcissism, and get roms.

That's it, I am pretty indifferent towards the community.
