Let's say that you are still you, but you are born somewhere where the language is different. For all intents and purposes, you no longer speak your current language.

How hard would it be for you to learn your native language as a second tongue?

For me, I think it would be next to impossible — my tongue is too nuanced, too "itself" to tackle it as an outsider (at least without sinking a ton of hours into it).

You?

The only annoying part of learning Spanish, would be the tildes, that's it.

I feel like English would be a pain in the ass to learn as a second language, particularly as an adult. My native tongue didn't so much borrow from other languages as it did steal elements and ran them through a wood chipper.

I agree.

And, well, the world kind of forces you to learn English anyway.

Which one is your "main" (if you wanna say, of course)?
Spanish, but i also know latino spanish which is also another can of worms. Spanish as a whole is confusing for having many diff dialects.

the funny part is that as someone whose first language is spanish, ive only used tildes in school where it was needed, everywhere else i never cared to bother hahaha, so hey its not like its needed if you just talk enough to know how things get pronounced.

as for the question, idk spanish sounds more of a pain to learn than english and a big factor of why i cared to learned this one was because early internet and most videogames where in english.
i probably would struggle to care.

Spanish is my first language as well, and that was pretty much the same for me.

Although I barely use tildes these days, cause my keyboard is in English, and I can't be bothered to learn the ASCII commands to add tildes.

I also haven't use this thing ¿ in forever.

I never used them in text, but if im writing on paper i do.

Spanish is relatively easy, so i won't have too many problems

Been around Spanish my whole life.

It's kind of amazing how everyone completely disregards "¿" and "¡" in informal speech.

I tried learning French and it was a pain in the ass, so I'm not sure it would be easy for me to learn Spanish if it wasn't my native language. English was kind of a cheat since schools over here are bilingual and I grew up watching American tv.

I'm being lazy to try to learn Portuguese, which is one of the many languages that's similar to mine, so I can't imagine having to learn Spanish from scratch.

For me, that would be incredibly hard. My native language is so difficult that even my fellow countrymen usually struggle to learn it well.

My native language is pretty hard. It would take a lifetime to learn.
