How Do You Listen?

I love music, you probably also love music, so how do you listen to it? I've had a fairly extensive audio cassette tape collection for a very long time and just started finding music on CD worth buying (there isn't all that much in the way of variety here second-hand in the heart of the bible belt; it's usually Christian, country, or classic rock. And I only really have a taste for the latter). I have an AGP-TEK MP3 Player (my daily driver) as well and it's fairly stuffed with a wide variety of content. My beat up "sports yellow" Sony CFD-375 is my main way of playing cassettes and CDs, but the CD player "jog dial" doesn't want to work most times

depends. at home - id either plop a cd in my player and listen to it while doing something else, or queue tracks from my local media player, no streaming for me!

outside - my trusty ipod.

Spotify, youtube, some random mp3 player on my phone, and winamp. Spoti and yt is good for finding new stuff, making playlists etc. and winamp is for the cool skins and nostalgia.

I also have a cassette/cd player, but albums I actually wanna listen to are bit expensive for me.

I buy vinyl of my favourite songs to listen to them in the best way , otherwise either using my Brain Music Player™©℗®, listening to them on Youtube and Spotify on PC and via MP4 player while I'm outside like this:

I don't like streaming services. I've got a 20 year old car, back when built-in CD players were still the standard. A hundred or so albums to commute to on rotation. I pray it continues to last me a long time.

Other than that I have a gigantic collection of ripped albums but I don't usually go for portable players. I prefer sitting down and listening without any outside distractions. I've floated the idea of getting a DAP but those are far more expensive nowadays. Most people just use their phones for music. Unfortunately I'm stubborn. My phone is for calling/texting. I'd rather have separate devices for any other needs. Sheesh, I probably sound twice my age.

I just download whatever songs I like and play them through VLC. Not a fan of streaming services.

I rely on Youtube & rarely Spotify for music but to be honest I really, really loathe the ads... hence why i call Youtube AdTube lol.

It's so bad i'm honestly thinking about making custom music CD-R's lol.

Basically Soundcloud. For offline music, Aimp. In the past I used Winamp, it was the best software for listening to music ever, but like everything else it got worse and worse over time.

But I listen on my computer, because I can skip all the ads. On my phone, only offline music.

I'm one of those stubborn people who exclusively listen from youtube .But then again there's a lot of indie bands on yt maybe that's why.

I was thinking about doing it old school way recently, looking at those Fiio 'walkman' but then I realize I still had my PSP which also an mp3 player. So maybe i'll just stick to that for now.

I just listen to my music on Youtube mainly, it always has worked out for me in the past so I just stuck with it since.

Usually YT on in the background while I'm doing something else in the room. I use my ipod for podcasts. I really want to get to the point where I can sit down and just listen to a CD and read the booklet while I do so, but I won't have time to really do that until I get some more stuff done at this house.

Youtube mostly as others have said, either at home or on the go. It has everything I could ever want and discovery is good enough for me.

I did try to get into using a cheap MP3 player I bought but the fact it was Micro-USB meant I kind of just stopped bothering with it when I kept needing to figure out how I was going to charge it with the separate cable when I was busy with USB ports, etc.

^This one is a good value for the price when I bought it last year. If I had one complaint is that it's "custom playlists" feature can only go up to 100 songs, which is kind of BS

Yeah, I might try again with a USB-C one. Or I might just repurpose one of the dozen emulator handhelds I've got if they have multimedia functionality.

Apple music for me. I am able to upload a large chunk of my digital music collection to allow me to play them on my multiple devices and my mobile tariff gives me access to music streaming services like apple music and spotify without using up my monthly data allowance. I just use apple music as I have in iPhone, iPad mini and macbook air.

on my PC, I still use apple music but I have also ripped some of my video Game OSTs into FLAC format so I sometimes use FooBar2000 for those files along with my higher end earphones.
