How did you come up with your Playable Character's Name?

Depends on the setting. If it's fantasy, I like to use a name that might fit like Arthur or Roland. If it's in a Japanese setting, I tend to just rip off names from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games like Shin or Kazuma.

If it's the first time that i play the game, i go with my username or my real name, if it's a repeat playthrough, i go with curse words and such.

Depends on the feel. If I don't really care I'll name them something dumb like AssBlaster or something to that effect. If I'm trying to keep myself immersed though then it depends on the game. Like for instance my current Darktide character is named Lyegra. I just put letters together until they formed something coherent. Or you could always do what I do when I'm at a loss and look up name generators.

When I was playing Class of Heroes a long time ago, I couldn't think of a good name to save my life, my brother pulled up a random name generator, gave me one that sounded really good to me and that one name is the one I've been using for any create-a-character since, even made an entire backstory to why this character is in all these games.

Real Story:
"I acquired a new pair of felynes in Monster Hunter and named them after my cats...??"

I'm horrible with names so I often randomly generate names and just go with whatever I think sounds nice.

A few years ago I joined some friends for a D&D campaign and used a random name generator for my character and got the name Noel which I tend to use in everything now. It fits in most settings and it's gender neutral so I don't have to change it if I decide to play a different gender.

Tigg has been my gaming name since Final Fantasy XI Online was released on PS2. I didn't own a keyboard for it and needed an account name, had to be at least 4 letters so I wanted it to be short since I didn't have a keyboard. At that time I was smoking a cigarette (back when I smoked) and thought of Cig, that somehow transitioned to Tig, then added an extra G lol.

I try to pick something that indicates to me the time I was playing the game. When I had been watching footage from Stranger of Paradise and it was around Christmas, I named a character Garland.

Usually I base it off whatever my name happens to be at the time. I've tried to keep it consistent over the years, but it's hard when you don't identify with it, or you stop identifying with it. So then you come up with something else and use that for a few years until it gets old; happens to a lot of people that way.

Or was the question more specifically how you came up with your own  personal name

'Cause if that's it, well.. I didn't.
Capcom did, and then decided to trash the character until XDive revived and changed her gender.
