Hot takes

Good to hear. I was not referring to you as blaming everyone else. I was talking about the self-appointed "moderator" who decided that the best thing to do was blame the victim and egg on the trolls to attack. I'm not about to forget that happened when talking about being driven out of a thread by them. Though I should have made that more clear.
I dunno if you can see this, but I just want to make it clear that I have nothing against you. In the conversations you’re referring to I called out the other users too and not just you (both times before I called you out), not in some vain attempt to backseat moderate, but because I didn’t want the threads to derail because it all just read as fighting as an outside viewer.

If you read this as me singling you out I truly am sorry because it was not my intention, and I didn’t think it looked like it personally. Maybe I shouldn’t have butted in at all, and you’re allowed to be angry at me for it, but there was zero malicious intent behind my posts.

I won’t bring it up anymore for the sake of the health of the thread, but I still felt that I wanted to clarify.

I agree with this non gaming Hot take/no normal hot take at all...

Love femboys, tomboys, goths, and panties...

Bye...
Tomboys are nice yeah.

I'll be honest I don't really see the appeal of underwear (no seriously, they're just piece of fabric, it's whom that wears them that counts the most to me).

Femboys have been a meme but I think that overstayed its welcome.

Japanese media had bishonens (androgynous/girly looking guys that were still identifying as guys) as well as otokonoko (which are more like crossdressers in this case).

But the whole debate about liking them to be gay or not is just a stupid one: A lot of people can be curious (pun intended) while still being ultimately straight because you don't suddenly turn from one to the other. Yeah, there are even gay people that could get interested in the opposite gender at some point in their lives (until they lose interest or discover they're actually bi).

People are more complex than that and many factors are there for attraction (like why some people prefer blond hair or someone tall), especially personality.
I don’t see femboys as a meme, it’s a subculture; There are actually people that dress like that. I remember when there was the big trap meme, luckily I haven’t seen that around (it pushed a dangerous stereotype). I think it should be more accepted to just not know what you are yet and not be pestered about it.

I forgot the stereotype but what made it dangerous?

Honestly I'm not even sure which terms are acceptable or not. I've also heard about tomgirl but this could be another type of person.

You're right.

I think the conjunction of both, the person and the underwear can create a sexy effect.

Bye x2....

Okay this is nice but I'm not sure it's SFW enough for the thread so let's keep avoid getting it locked.

I also find it funny how adding some knee-socks (or thigh highs I dunno the difference) adds more clothing yet make something more appealing, perhaps the emphasis on the legs?

What's the actual psychology behind that?

These rascals will combine the two soon enough.
Gamers can be the most creative bunch of people when it comes to weird stuff don't know what sort of abominable amalgamations the mind of the gamer can come up with ::agree

The trap meme pushed the thought process that trans men/femboys/etc are going out of their way to trick (mainly) straight men. Which is dangerous because those groups have been physically attacked because of this thought process.

This is called 'absolute territory' or something. I don't know how to put it into words but my take is, it's more attractive because the clothing acts as the last line of defense for the treasure it holds behind.
Kinda like how game trailers trying to tease you to build up hype y'know, it won't be as much fun if they show you directly all the good stuff from the get go.

Yet legs aren't suggestive per se.

It's the context maybe? Like how someone's back can be appealing with the right clothes.

Ah... That's a stretch isn't it? Nobody would try tricking someone, I mean in the bedroom the trick would no longer work and consent is important anyway.

Unless it's actually someone not comfortable enough in their heterosexuality so they want to not notice how they actually are under there but I'm probably overthinking it.
It’s a well worn trope that doesn’t require any actual trick, some men have simply characterized any femme presentation of a penis-haver as an attempt to trick them, and that shit has led to a lot of violence. Like, A LOT.

I remember this was used as a name for a song.

Honestly I can take "something was never good" as a light-hearted form of teasing.
It's probably me being paranoid about that kind of claim.

Bare Knuckles 3 was the best game in the series until Streets of Rage 4 came out.

Streets of Rage 2 is fine but not the GOAT beat'em up like I hear almost everyone say. Most people love it because it looks and sound amazing, gameplay wise it's a good beat em up but has nothing on the best ones.

Thanks for saying Bare Knuckles 3 and not SoR 3.

I'm not expert enough in term of the genre but 2 was a bit sluggish but I expected it from the games of its era.

Oh i remembered another one:

- VNs and Interactive Fiction count as games.
I think it depends on how much effort goes into developing gameplay. Some VNs are either very linear or give little choice in events. That's basically an ebook with illustrations. Others give you branching paths as your gameplay, with multiple endings. That's basically the old Choose Your Own Adventure books that kids used to read. If they can add more to the gameplay, then sure, they are games. But a bare-basic visual novel is just a novel with visuals.

It was VERY sluggish. More than most beat'em ups.
Well that's when you play Axel. Blaze and Skate are fast and Max can blitz his way. However I hate how much recovery frames there are after a single jab. At least it was fixed when they imported the characters in SOR 4.

My issue is more ennemy placement and pacing. It's fine but can get a bit boring because there are many times when I don't think I need any strategy. At least in higher difficulties the game becomes more enjoyable even though the difficulty can get... stupid at time (aka lots of ennemies instead of clever placement and combination of ennemies type).

It's still a pretty damn good beat'em up but after games like Aliens vs Predator, Fight and Rage and Denjin Makai, or the Dungeon and Dragon games, it was quite underwhelming ( I played SOR 2 pretty late).

I guess people hyped the game a bit to much wich lead to my disappointement and me thinking 'that' it ? that's the goat " ?

I actually was more amazed at SOR1. It's inferior to 2, but it's really interesting and fun in a lot of ways, mostly because of how unique it is for a beat em up (those jabs with insane range will never not be fun).
