Hot takes

Neil Druckmann is a genius and I would love to see more games by him. *raises flame shield* personally I am glad he seems to be done with Last of Us and is moving on to his next ideas.

David Jaffe is an amazing and underrated game director.

God of War and Twisted Metal were made under his tenure. Sure neither one of them are masterpiece games but they are fun. The ps2 God of Wars are much funner than the PS4 one (yes the same director that made 2 made the ps4 one but God of War 2 is a continuation of Jaffe's idea and while better gameplay wise lacked the creative umph that the original had).

Super Mario 64 isn't the best 3D platformer on N64. Bomberman 64, Banjo Kazooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day outclass it and no it isn't the first 3D platformer either as it was predated by alpha waves and Jumpin Flash!

Was Super Mario 64 an amazing game that was very influential yes. But people act like it created the 3D platformer.

Digimon World for the playstation is better than any Pokemon game.

We are certainly in agreement on these.

It's perfectly fine to let go of a series of games or whatever if you feel disappointed or don't feel like giving it any more chances. There's no reason to stick around to a series that keeps making mistakes in hopes of someday expecting it to get better or whatever.

Sometimes it's better to just move on.

It's okay to cut ties with people, even family, if they're not supportive. I don't have time for people that are going to be judgemental and not constructive. If you're not paying my bills, you don't get to tell me how I should be doing things because you have archaic and bloated views about what success looks like.

This may be a bit too specific.

this sounds like relationship advice

I don't care what people say. Relentless, Reckless Forever album from Children of Bodom is fucking amazing.

Malcolm in the middle and el chavo del 8 are the only good sitcoms there are

I always thought meg was kinda cute, they have to go out of their way to draw her fatter than she looks sometimes!

Absolutly true .
No game-series can hold on for what they are and what kind of quality they brought to the table forever.
The best games / movies / comics / etc. have an end .

Yeah, or at least peaks and valleys when it comes to quality, although where the peaks and valleys actually are can be subjective to an extent.

Sloppy Joes suck. I don't know why people like Sloppy Joes.
i like sloppy joes, but i'd rather just eat the stuff by itself, not on a hamburger bun. that ruins it in my opinion.

I thought they died well I'm not into pokemon.
pokemon runs on the "you only die in cutscenes" logic. if it doesn't happen in a cutscene, it don't count.

True and i agree . But what happens when the peaks and valleys getting flatter and flatter ?
Those game-series becoming mediocre experiences . And this happens to many game-series lately and even back then .
At the end our subjectivity is the main-point what we prefer from those games and what are our highs and lows in the series determined for what we stand as fans of the franchise .

Very well said. I guess the question becomes then "How flat are we ready to accept our peaks become?"

Robin Williams should have interpreted that Jurassic Park 1 character that accompanies those 2 kids

Touche , my friend . Touche .
If you'll humor me with a practical example of my own experience for a minute:

Monster Hunter is my favorite franchise, and it's interesting how those "in", that is, those that play regularly and know the series and those "out", those that look at the series from the outside both tend to complain that the series is becoming stale and far too accommodating to newcomers with each new iteration, haha.

I prefer the classic style, but heck, let people try it, see if they enjoy it. Those that enjoy the core loop will stay, maybe become true fans, those that don't will move on, milk what they can of the newness of the latest entry and then move on to the next big release. Isn't that the same with every game? no harm, no foul.

I completly agree . Nothing to add from my side .
