Welp, It's all in the title ya see. Share some downright horrid takes and opinions.
I'll start...Errm...Uhhhh...
Marvel VS Capcom 2 is one of the most overrated Capcom fighting games; let alone for the genre.
While the mechanics can be enjoyable, I personally just don't enjoy the flashy, over the top sky launching combos of the VS series in general. And although the slight brokenness of the game is fun for most, I personally find it more tedious than anything.

god of war ps4 sucks, the story is nonexistent, characters are at best mediocre and at worst annoying, that bearded bald guy is Kratus in name only, characters and settings are tonally inconsistent, gameplay is janky and stiff, camera placement is horrible, every puzzle is a pushover, difficulty is super artificial due to the change in genre, and I didn't like any of the boss fights
I can talk about how much I hate this game for 10 hours because I am so disappointed

that sucks. i liked the first two the best mainly because of the puzzles. 3 was alright but i was sick of interactive cut scenes by then. and 4 looked stupid so i skipped it, sounds like i didn't miss anything then

i think ridge racer(the entire series) sucks and is vastly overrated, the 90s titles handle like a turd and dont have an understanding on why driving cars is fun in the first place(which is to say dynamicism, something these games lack) and in my eyes are easily overshadowed by sega's 90s arcade racing games which have actually aged well due to how well they drive(especially sega rally). the 2000s titles are simply boring to me with the now easy and understandable driving(unlike previously where for the life of me i cant get a consistent drift to work and it feels so weird and on rails) feeling as flat as before but now easier coupled with very boring racing as this series never invested its time in developing actually challenging ai of any sort. i also feel that the presentation(outside of the 1st game) is lame but i feel like thats just because i dont like these games in the first place

bro I pre-ordered that shit because I was starving for new GOW and ascension was not satisfying
GOW ps4 made me replay ascension 3 times

-Smash IS a fighting game.

-What people call "milking" is just company doing what company do: making profit. And it's not wrong.

-Both modern and old games are beautiful and ugly in their own way.

-"Games nowadays lack of ..." is just an excuse to talk shit about everything.

-People can develop any game they want, including "woke" games. You can just ignore them if you don't like them.

-AI translation is okay, no one with actual JLPT N1 working on them anyway. And again, you can just ignore them if you don't like them.

<Kracks Knuckles>
Mortal Kombat is Stupidly Overrated,You know your series is having problems when inserting Batman doesn't seem to improve things at all. Raiden's looking pretty freaking white for a Japanese god...
Everyone has the same body type: necks like KFC Bargain Buckets for the boys, jugs like two pigs in a safety harness for the ladies. At least Street Fighter has some Overly Animated schoolgirls and a fat Guy or two. There's something off about Lui Kang's shoulder muscles; he looks like two rolled-up carpets leaning on a petrol pump.

<Yes i stole this from ZP, i'm to lazy to retype the same thing mostly>

Most classics would be torn apart mercilessly if they were released today -- not because of the dated graphics (of course), but because they just wouldn't be good games nowadays.
i think this is because modern gamers(not just journalists) hate any sort of difficulty and want games to literally just play themselves

That, and the fact that you are not going to get a lot of eye candy out of Pong or Tetris. Journalists like their eye candy.

I never understood the hype that NES gets from YouTubers. It has the worst library out of any console. Zelda, Mega Man, and Mario are ok. The rest of the games are shovelware.

List of mediocre games:
Uncharted
Assassins Creed
Silent Hill 2
Golden Eye 007
Tomb Raider

with journalists sure but i feel like with most gamers graphics barely matter anymore considering the rise of faux-retro indie games and all that but i feel like even with a core gaming audience you will get this sentiment of any sort of difficulty = bad because ive seen it happen time and time again with rereleases and people being really psychotic over this whole ordeal. example would be world racing 2, go on its steam page and look at user reviews and discussions and you will see players complaining about supposed "rubberband" ai that just doesnt actually exist, the ai is just above average in terms of difficulty for a racing game and combine that with the fact that most new players are going to play on keyboard(digital inputs for steering are simply inferior in this game, you lose quite a bit of speed so ai can get you in the turns in that case but this isnt a problem with analog inputs) and this just lead to an illusion of "rubberband". you can probably find more example of deranged behavior due to difficulty but this is one i know personally and can diagnose
