It was about time. I didn't play much of the first one like you, but at that time I knew it was a well rounded product with a lot of talent involved. My only hopes now are that Silksong releases for PS4 as well :DI got the first game for "free" with PS plus, first 30 mins I thought, meh, it's just another micro-budget metroidvania. But after that, the game's art style, world building and difficulty really caught me off-guard. I have no problem saying it's one of my fave games of the last decade, and I have total faith in Team Cherry for Silksong.
I've talked about this topic many times with friends. I can understand both sides of the coin, and both of them are equaly respectable:Being an exclusive devalues the game quality? Damn ... I didn't know
Exclusivity usually brings more quality and polishing to the product, because money is invested for it. There are exceptions, but that's what I've found along the years.
Multiplatform releases help people who don't want to invest money in all consoles, with some drawbacks, as the developer needs to adapt the game for the weaker platform in many cases.
I prefer exclusives because I am a person who usually gets all the platforms as I like videogames not console brands. None of them gave me any favours, so I do not favour any of them over the others, because each platform has its upsides and downsides.
But my friends are multi, because they usually stick with one console and tend to nitpick the others. I still don't understand why, because we are not teenagers anymore, and I associate that with unnmaturity. Maybe I am wrong, but that's the way I am :)
