Hidden Gems!

House of the Dead 4 and Time Crisis: Razing Storm are pretty great light gun games on the platform. I know you can get Time Crisis 4 separately but I didn't play that version and I don't think it ever got Move support.

Spent a decent amount of time with Castlevania Harmony of Despair but nowhere near as long as most of the people I ran into online. I think I recall seeing a PC port going around which would be a far better way to get into that kind of thing these days since it's better with friends.

Uncharted 1 is a fantastic action movie translated to video game.

Infamous 1 and 2 are a great duology.

LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2 were pretty nice platformers, and are probably still worth a spin through for the story modes. Sad that the online component is dead thanks to some scumbag (or scumbags).

Dead Nation was pretty decent. Not the kind of game I typically play (overhead shooter) but I had fun with it, including in co-op.

It's one of the most overlooked jrpgs on ps3

What a blast from the past. I don't remember a ton from White Knight Chronicles if I'm honest, but I do remember beating it and it being one of my first "proper" JRPGs. I even forgot the whole custom character and online component which was apparently a pretty big part of the experience.

Thanks for all these suggestions (it's actually harder than you would think to find good hidden gems, even with a hundred youtube videos titled "360 hidden gems" its all common stuff).

I would recommend 2 Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG) that I think are awesome.

Dead Pixels

Thankfully Dead Pixels is on Steam and it also has a sequel. Sadly I never got to play Cursed Loot...

Speaking of XBLIG I missed out on, I regret not knowing about Platypus since it had an Xbox 360 version through XBLIG and it has widescreen with more difficulty options.

In the Razing Storm version that you mentioned, it also includes Time Crisis 4 and the brilliant Deadstrom Pirates. Personally I actually prefer Deadstrom Pirates. Liked it in the arcade, and having it at home is great.

These are more multiplat-titles :
-RE Revalations
-Skate 3 ( even unpatched its a fun game with its bigs and glitches )
-Dantes Inferno
-Anarchy Reigns
-Fist of the Northstar : Kens Rage 2 ( Great musou with its own flaws )
-Alpha Protocol ( unintentionally peak comedy and agent power-fantasy )
-Lost planet : extreme condition colonies edition ( what a mouthful for the best version of this game )

Anyone else play Trash Panic on PS3? It's such a good idea for a game. Even if it gets annoyingly hard as fuck by the end, the concept of just ramming trash down and occasionally burning it and stuff is a fun idea for a game.

Oh yeah, I remember trying that out. I didn't get much out of it myself compared to Time Crisis 4 though just because it's one I always played in arcades in the 2000s.

Also big ups, I remember you from Youtube with the private WoW server stuff back in the day.

Cheers dude! Didn't expect anyone here to know those videos!

People seem to love Samurai Warriors 4 too but I haven't spent much time with it.
I’m personally iffy on it and pirate warriors. My favorite modern musous are WO3, DW7-8, Persona 5 Strikers and Hyrule Warriors.

Ah great, didn't know it had a steam release. Sadly, think the sequel has been in what looks like "development hell" for about 10 years now, so I think the dream might be over for the sequel!

Even to own, unless you’re a weirdo who wants the stand-alone copy, it’s extremely cheap too. It was one of the first games I got with my XBox when I got it used. It was, like, $7 for a complete copy of the bundle.
Only thing weirder than that would be someone who enjoys the other half of the bundle

That would be me. SEGA GT 2002 is a fun sim racer. Not a “must buy” though. What you’re really doing is spending less on Jet Set.

Like Roommania #203 but with a robot girl

Including both PS1 and PS2 results in quite a long list of answers, but to add to this the game that comes to mind for me is Linda Cubed Again an enhanced remake the PC Engine CD rpg a la the Lunar games. This is the only version I know of that has an english patch. I suspect this game inspired the Pokemon series but its way more interesting than those

I've searched "hidden gems ps3" on google and I clicked on the link without seeing it was for this forum :D
I will also look among the topics here (I've seen a used and cheap ps3 in a store near me and I'm thinking of buying it)

Hyrule Warriors is fun. I put a lot of time into every version of that game. I think Fire Emblem Warriors is even better.

I could say Sleeping Dogs or Metal Gear Solid 4 but to avoid repetition...
Alice Madness returns!

(I'm still waiting for its sequel, but I'm aware that it will never happen after everything that happened around its development. :c)

Someone has already mentioned Project Diva, so I'm just gonna add to that by saying those games are the one of the reasons why I even got a PS3 to begin with (The other reasoning is a long story, but to make it short, my brother ended up giving the PS3 to my sister when she moved away. It's fine because the one My brother had was the third revision if memory serves me right, and I like the second revision better!)

Another pick of mine is Rune Factory Tides of Destiny. I may have not played it yet, but I will someday! Farming sims are a favorite genre of mine so I'm sure I'll end up loving it regardless.

Prototype
Rising Revegance
Darkness 2
Sniper Elite
Crack in Time
Modnation Racers
Mafia 2
MK9
Dragon Dogma
Dragon Age Origin
Saints Row 3
Dead Rising 2
Killzone 2
LA Noir
Ashur's Wrath

Sony has this legacy of pouring a bunch of cash into games nobody remembers or cared about at the time, on ps2 it was mark of kri, primal, and ghosthunter. on the triple you get afrika and puppeteer. Afrika is a really fun wildlife photography game, in my experience it gets over bigly when you show it to people who aren't gamers. puppeteer is a gorgeous sidescrolling puzzle platformer with a dope aesthetic.

I watched youtube essay on this, it is indeed a fascinating game that is way more interesting than any pokemon game I've ever tried.
