Hey everyone, I’ve just joined the forum and I’m pretty new to the PS2 emulation side of things. I recently got a PC and set up PCSX2, and I’ve already been running a few games from Vimm’s Lair without any issues.

I’m now looking into the modded / hacked PS2 game builds that people often mention from CDROMANCE, but I’ve never downloaded or set one up before. I’m not totally sure how the process works compared to grabbing standard ISOs, so I’d really appreciate some guidance on the correct way to download and use these patched versions with PCSX2.

If anyone can explain the proper steps, what files I should expect, or anything I need to watch out for, that would help a lot. Thanks in advance!

rom hacks should work the same as any other ISO
you dont need to manually patch the game or download multiple files or anything

It should be as simple as using 7zip or winrar to extract a .iso from a .7z archive.
In case you're getting an xdelta patch from places like gbatemp or romhacking for a game that isn't here, you just need to apply it to regular rom (bin/cue or iso) by using the xdelta patcher, which you can also get from said places.
Is some particular game giving you trouble?

I was going to respond earlier too, but if you know how to work a PS2 emulator. And you made it to the forum at that. You are on the golden road already. Vimm's stuff is zipped too, I think. I had to go there for some 3ds stuff. Glad you are happy btw OP.

since iso file can fill your storage pretty fast just try to convert them to chd format
or try searching PS2 CHD on google and then you find it right away
