Hftf player here. How da fuq do I play melty blood?

Hi, I'm Union, and I just got into the famous jojo's bizzare adventure fighting game, heritage for the future. And I have melty blood actress again on flycast.
So I think to myself:
Huh, melty blood must be the same in gameplay. It seems like it has some magic series combos, similar to hftf, just maybe...
BOY WAS I WRONG, because as it turns out, mbaa isn't one microscopic bit similar to hftf.
So I need YOUR ADVICE, so I can get into melty blood.
Disclaimer: I only have the 2008 naomi edition on my samsung Galaxy tab a8
