I've actually been here for a bit already and replied to some threads but I never properly introduced myself so I'm doing it now lol

I'm a 20yr girl and I'm a pretty big fan of Japanese stuff and retro gaming! My fav types of games are JRPGs and visual novels, so basically story-oriented games lol, although I really love gameplay focused games too! They're relaxing. My first experience with retro gaming was in middle school when I was 12, I played A Link to the Past on my friend's emulator when we were at the beach and I instantly fell in love lol. Coincidentally that was the same year when the SNES Classic Mini came out lol, obviously got it day one, maybe it was fate?

So yeah lol I'm actually more a lurker, but I really like talking too! You'll mostly see me reacting to messages and leaving a message here and there lol. Glad to be here!

Thank you! Tbh I'm not a super expert either but I absolutely love Persona games. Persona 5 Royal is probably among my favorite video games ever. You should definitely check them out!

Thanks for the rec! I think i have one of the PS2 games somewhere so i'll try that one out when the square-enix stuff gets boring. I remember playing it for a bit years ago but don't really remember what it was about other than the characters being in school and that there were monsters that came out at night.

You're welcome! That's most likely Persona 3 FES. Haven't played it a lot yet because I have yet to finish the others but I always hear pretty great things about it! A remake came out last year but tbh I prefer the PS2 version. Can't beat that 2000s vibe lol

Oh yeah the vibe was really strong with that one, i really remember liking the whole aesthetic style the game had. Might be nostalgia because our first console was a PS2 but i can't get enough of the games from the 2000s and early 2010s.

You're definitely going to like it then! I'm probably a bit nostalgic for games from that period too lol. Persona 3 Reload and Persona 4 Golden really capture the 2000s (P3) and early 2010s (P4) vibe. Persona games have a really great aesthetic, Persona 5 is probably the most stylish game ever imho. Persona games soundtrack is also pretty great and definitely unique among videogames! The best thing about those games is definitely characters imho.

I hope you'll like it! The only negative-ish side unfortunately is gameplay. It gets improved a lot in Persona 5 (dungeons in P5 are great) but it's pretty standard in Persona 3 and 4. I still liked Persona 4's gameplay but you shouldn't expect mindblowing gameplay lol. The rest is absolutely worth it though.

I gotta say I prefer forums over reddit or tiktok just much more chill and less negative than whatever my generation loves to consume which mostly is irony and a hell lot of irony and it can be tiring to deal with.

Well I guess he can keep me company hearing my yelling about chemistry and physics I hope he doesn't die out of boredom tho.
