The reverse applies too lol. Japanese grammar is easy imho, but it's so different than English grammar (or western languages grammar in general) that most people find it pretty hard too lol. I don't struggle with it though, but maybe it's just me lol
Yeah, and they're also a lot, so they're difficult to learn. Western people are used to the alphabet which is pretty easy to memorize, so having to learn more than 2000 kanji of different shapes with multiple reading is hard lol. I don't particularly struggle with them because I always had a pretty good memory, and it's basically the language I'm more exposed to thanks to Japanese media lol (even more than English probably) so imho it's really just a matter of time, I can understand why they're difficult though.
There are many difficult kanji, but one that is often considered challenging in daily use is the character "日".
Japanese people naturally switch between different readings in everyday life, but in fact, "日" has over 20 different pronunciations. For example, in the following sentence:
「二日経って、今日一月一日は、日曜日。日本は祝日、晴れの日です。」
The character "日" appears eight times, and each one is read differently.
It is pronounced as:
"Futsuka tatte, kyō ichigatsu tsuitachi wa, nichiyōbi. Nihon wa shukujitsu, hare no hi desu."
If you're not a native speaker, this would probably drive you crazy.
How did it even end up like this?
I love both, but if I had to choose, I’d say I prefer the Musou (Warriors) series.
The sheer number of characters and overall content make the Musou series stand out, and there are so many titles in the franchise. Even though I sometimes feel like the games are getting repetitive, I still end up playing every new release.
My favorite and most memorable titles are Dynasty Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 2.
On the other hand, BASARA put more emphasis on character personality, which made it extremely popular among female fans in Japan. Around the time of BASARA 2, it was several times more popular than the Musou series, and it even caused a social phenomenon where many women became interested in learning history because of it.
The BASARA X fighting game has a cult following, and I’m a huge fan of it as well.
I kind of got carried away talking about this, but my favorite characters are Wang Yi from Musou and Hideyoshi from BASARA.
I love Rockman!
I'm a big fan of the FC Rockman series, the SFC Rockman X series, and the Rockman EXE series.
I'm not particularly good at playing them myself, but I absolutely love the music, stage atmosphere, and characters. It's such a captivating series!
I live in Tokyo, and I have a great time here since there are so many events and live concerts.
My hometown is elsewhere, but I've been living in Tokyo for a long time now. Thankfully, I have a decent number of friends here.
Of course, it's not all fun and games. Salaries aren’t increasing, but taxes and living costs keep going up.
On top of that, Japan's aging population and declining birthrate are getting worse every year. By the time I become elderly, they say we won’t even receive pensions anymore.
I don’t really like talking about politics, but things aren’t looking great.
Well, I guess no country has people who actually praise their own government, right?
