Yeah, I know this is embarrassing. As a gamer my whole life, I was a console gamer from time to time. There are games I play on PC, but I was never a full gamer. There are games I remember for free, like Torchlight and Fate, but I guess my real games were Princess Maker 1 on MSX, where I really played a PC game, and Princess Maker 2 on MS-DOS.

I know how to operate MSX and MS-Dos.

Now I really need your help here with my problem.

1.) Where to download PC games

-I know a couple of websites, but I really want the best.

2.) Where to download paid MS-DOS

-Years ago I did stumble on the website Princess Maker 2, which was supposed to be paid MS-DOS. I don't remember the website I did download from, but I got it. I don't know if that website still exists.

3.) What are the best CRPGs to play?

-Ever since I played Dragon Age: Origins, I was itching for more of this. I never thought I'd end up loving this genre. I guess I'm really an RPG gamer, but I want an old style like those isometric RPGs.

Please help a fellow pirate here; the PC is the only one I didn't conquer yet (and DM me if you plan to put a link).

This is my surprise project for my niece and nephew since we're going on a family vacation. I want something different, even if I don't know how, so it's the best time to jump into old PC games.

For Princess Maker i think its preferred to play them illegally on the context that the official releases on Gog or Steam have the lewd content removed. I don't remember a whole lot but from what I read when I was trying to get into the serious its best to get them from a yarhar mi matey site with the uncensored patches if they still exist.

-_- I have a few sites that I downloaded some dos games from, but considering most several generic rom sites also has some, you can always check google for them. My Dosbox rpgs contains mostly the Eye of the beholder games, heroes of might and magic, and the wizardry series. My vote for the best rpg series is the wizardry. You can't go wrong with them.

Probably the best place to get paid ms-dos games

It's hard to name best CRPG since there is so many good games, not to mention depend what you count as CRPG, but i can list bunch that i like

Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
Arcanum
Kotor 1 and 2
Gothic 1 and 2
Gothic 3 is also good but community patch is essential
Risen 1
Evil Islands
Fallout 1/2/NW
Icewind Dale 1 and 2
Vampire Masquerade Redemption
Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines
Morrowind
Arx Fatalis
Divine Divinity

Well, you can pay for the game on GOG, then download the uncensored game. You're paying and enjoying it same way, specially for PC. Everyone wins.

paid (as in currently commercially available rather than abandonware) ms-dos games? Gog has most of those so anywhere that distributes gog as piracy is good. I use freegogpcgames.com

It's another of those pages that are a nightmare without proper adblocking, but wowroms.com has plenty of paid dos games.

Pc games? Well, once again there's the gog versions in the page I gave above, for more modern stuff there's fitgirl-repacks.site, be careful of copycats.

Honestly? I use igg-games.com, but that page does has a shady reputation. In my experience all the many games I've downloaded are clean, but it's an utter nightmare without proper adblocking, and without it, it tends to open a myriad of deceitful pop-ups.

Ublock origin is your best friend when pirating.

Also, damn, I seriously can't find the og version of princess maker 2 for DOS anymore.

GOG has a couple old CRPGs free to own right now. Akalabeth and Ultima IV being a few.

Actually I think all the free CRPGs there are just a few Ultima games lmao

Steam, GOG, abandonware. There's also the less than reputable sources like torrents or repacks a certain "fitgirl" might offer you, but I don't think I can directly link those here.

Some of the best Computer RPGs are Fallout 1,2, Tactics, Planescape: Torment (the older Baldur's Gate games play like this too), Diablo 1 & 2 (obviously), Dungeon Siege (only the first one), Wizardry Gold (there are also other gems in the Wizardry series, but I can only vouch for Gold atm, also, Might & Magic plays similarly, but everyone knows the Heroes subseries is where it's at), Freedom Force, Ultima (really old, but many of them are free on GOG for you to try out),

If you do torrent stuff, Fitgirl Repacks tend to be the best.
For fixes and stuff go here and as for CRPGs, the quoted post has basically everything I would have recommended (though be sure to use Fallout 1 and 2 community editions) minus some newer games (for which I recommend checking out MandaloreGaming's reviews.)

You might want to try Divine Divinity if you want a mix of Diablo and Ultima.

Atom RPG is a cool CRPG that unfortunately got overlooked by a lot of people because of its pretty generic artstyle as well as some quality of life issues that have since been patched. The Writing is interesting and surprisingly funny but not in an annoying or unrealistic way like a lot of modern games. It's the closest thing there is to a classic Fallout game you can get in the modern day.
