Help me get into JRPGs bros

Trails in the Sky
I always recommend it for newcomers. Great battle system, characters, graphics, everything. Just a very solid game.

Earthbound
Recently finished and absolutely loved it. Despite the game being about children, it has great humor, very unique enemy design and music, even horror elements.

I've tried getting into JRPG games in the past when i was younger but i sucked and didn't understand much, i pretty much finished the whole Yakuza series (idk if that counts) but i've always liked the character designs, the music (im a beat maker and always found JRPGs to have the best music to sample), etc. But now I feel like its time to really get into this, If any of you can give me recommendations and maybe a backstory of the game(s) it would be GREATLY appreciated.

looking to play anything from SNES-PS3/360 era
I always recommend Dragon Quest I as a first JRPG due to its short length and pretty easy to understand mechanics. I've gotten people into DQ and JRPGs in general by having them try it because it's the perfect bite sized introduction. For action RPGs I like to recommend Ys for similar reasons: Short, easy to get into (even if there are some bigger difficulty spikes depending on which version you play).
