How you feeling on the Megatens you have played/are currently playing atm?I'm playin Shin Megami Tensei III RM, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Reload, n the maybe-not SMT or Persona universes' but same devs n similar vibe Metaphor: ReFantazio aLL in tandem
I've played an SMT on PSx but that's the only JRPG of this franchise I pLayed previousLy
fascinating metaphysicaLity vibe - when not playin fighters or other shit - these have me hooked as they provide such a superfluous experience.... it's sorta like if Twin Peaks had a vidgame franchise lol

(Ah sorry my mistake I forgetten to read final paragraph )
I think it might be early Persona cause I can't recall anything like that in Smt II, thinking P1's intro with the students doing something like that.most of the memory I have for Shin Megami Tensei... I think it was II ? some teenagers havin a seance. come to think of maybe it was an early Persona. I'll revisit the early stuff n find which in a bit.
Shin Megami Tensei III totaLLy gave me a Silent HiLL vibe but with an anime-aesthetic. doesn't scare or spook me but can be slightly unsettling but more fascinating than anything else. love the twisted conceptual dialogues n the 'abandoned haunted place' vibe
Persona 3 Reload is loaded with ppl around like Yakuza or Shenmue but when you hit the dorm - somethin 'oFF' is goin on n it's hard to tell so far if it's beneficiaL or malevolent intents from the main-surrounding chars
Persona 4 Golden is a nice mixed bag of funneh, trippy, emotional, 'woah' moments n has good pacing too. I am reaLLy diggin this one
if Metaphor: ReFantazio counts - a throwback n evolution of JRPG simultaneously. also a throwback to 80's/earLy 90's anime with both the vibe n the copious amounts of violence. I believe I am hooked on this most n it is FARRR BEEEEYOND RECOMMENDED.
I am stretched thin between so many damn'd games n so many genres n friend 'obligations' as weLL which I must balance with music creation, listening/checking out, a yearly toplist, etc. and bouts of severe sickness where I am lucky if I can do something like organize fiLes. this is aLL extraneous info - however, it's to keep in mind to explain why my progress through games can be a stop-start stagnated juggle of a journey.I think it might be early Persona cause I can't recall anything like that in Smt II, thinking P1's intro with the students doing something like that.
Though Nocturne is really good for the vibe it does, there really isn't any Megaten in the mainline series like it as the world is just weird as naturally expected with mainly demons, the manikins, and the few who survived that are going through their own journey to say the least. Seriously great stuff and I'm glad you are enjoying the experience, hopefully the reason you go with during your playthrough goes well (both Raidou and Dante are cool btw).
I'm personally more of a Persona 3 than Persona 4 kind of fan but I did find P3R to be a real good time, a lot of the early portion of the game is understanding how the midnight hour works which I did find fascinating, the idea is pretty cool and really hasn't been done for the main Persona games. As well the mystery behind some of the characters that borderline if they really are on to something for their own sake or if it's for the good. P4G on that note is just a goofy enjoyable time alongside a good story whenever it's about the main serious moments in the narrative. It hits a good spot in the middle Imo. I hope you find both games satisfying till the end cause they do hold up a ton and especially P4G (well before that remake comes out in the future lol).
And Metaphor is more or less a Megaten game, pretty much shares the elements and skills also literally the demons from the games in general. I love that game a ton and having 100%-ed earlier the year, such a great time of a game. If you are hooked now, my God you are in for a ride later on. If I can ask, what point are you at atm?
I can get that struggle as the balance game isn't easy cause I try to balance out language studying, drawing and whatever errand/event that's needed to be done for the day so playing a game can take some time to get to (planned out to play a game with a friend today which is why my response took a bit lol). Especially with me cleaning up my current backlog that I have started atm. Hopefully you can find the perfect balance to be able to game but for now I hope you enjoy the backlog journey you have cause they are all goodies!I am stretched thin between so many damn'd games n so many genres n friend 'obligations' as weLL which I must balance with music creation, listening/checking out, a yearly toplist, etc. and bouts of severe sickness where I am lucky if I can do something like organize fiLes. this is aLL extraneous info - however, it's to keep in mind to explain why my progress through games can be a stop-start stagnated juggle of a journey.
I just started Metaphor, I would think it's very earLy goings. I'm about to enter a cave/mine where the vibe kinda implies that shit's about to get FR FR. I'm not experienced with modern JRPGs enough to have the perspective enough to see shit comin down the road so much - though ofc it's not dense rocket-science paradigm-overwhelming egodeath to understand the immediate n surrounding situs - also, an appeaL for me to this one is that it hearkens back to JRPGs of old in some ways that are blended in with the modern kinda briLLiantLy, so... I'm sure the cave/mine wiLL be a moderate challenge, but I won't let down my guard much or play when my brain is chained to the bottom of the ocean lol
Yeah, these are a new generation of threads coming. There will surely be some bizarre things to come. What is with these threads today?
Lowkey dont much care for em.Yeah, these are a new generation of threads coming. There will surely be some bizarre things to come.

Theres an old saying back in the forums of the orient.
"A thread made out of boredom, is worth less then the users made to crawl the site for search engines."
In what way? A waste of a thread is a waste of a thread. Im surprised more dont say somethin, but ah well~I hope that this will not develop in a bad direction.
