what is the meaning of head canon names, could you please explain a bit ?

• Canon is what it is confirmed in a source material (the story of a game, tv show, movie universe)
• Headcanon is how a fan prefer to interpret that material, be it to just fill something that isn't here, or come up with a reasonable theory, or sometimes to simply contradict what he doesn't like.
• Fanon is the above but when the fans collectively agree on something.

Fans have given names to unnamed characters to various works through the history, be the background character Derpy Hooves from My Little Pony, or Phooey Duck, the mistakenly drawn fourth nephew that occasionally appears in Uncle Scrooge stories.

These names often get accepted by the official material and was the case with the two examples I mentioned. A funnier one is "spelunky guy" from the game Spelunky, who in the sequel got his official name: Guy Spelunky.

In other worlds: Pick a character who you either don't know the first name or the full name, and come up with your own. Alternatively, pick a character which you already know the name but make up something silly anyway.

i'd say ben drown might count. i think the crash devs know about fake crash and have included him in some games, if i remember correctly.

he does apparently have a name, and even though a character does say his name, the audio goes silent for a second and a half when it's said.
i wouldn't be surprised if john was his name though. john as the protag, jack as the villain. the devs will probably learn about this and make it canon.

there were some novelizations of the mainline final fantasy games in japan as part of an aniversary celebration if i remember correctly. they did give the main party of 4 in the ff1 book names. i found this on the wiki site:

• Setro (ゼスト, Zest?), the Warrior
• Zauver (ザウバー, Sauber?), the Thief
• Flora (フロウ, Floe?), the White Mage
• Teol (テウ, Daewoo?), the Black Mage
