Have you ever met a "celebrity"?

I met Shuhei Yoshida during my first networking event as a producer.

Incredibly niche micro-"celebrity", but a good while back a competitive LoL player's father was relatively involved with the community (I think he streamed and everything). People loved him, very fun and charismatic guy. My brother and I got to take a picture with him when we went to see the world tournament.

I once met Don Cherry (Host of the Coaches Corner segment of Hockey Night in Canada) in an Edmonton Quiznos. He does not in fact wear the crazy suits all the time.

I met Jerry Jones (owner/president/general manager of the Dallas Cowboys NFL football team) a couple months ago. He pulled up to Walmart (grocery store) in a white stretch limo with bull horns on the front. Weird dude but seemed friendly enough.

My childhood home is in the same neighborhood as Britney Spears. I remember always seeing her and her sister around when I was growing up. My grandfather used to play Golf with her dad.

I never met a real one, but I slept with a guy once who claimed to be some big writer. I didn't recognize his name and I didn't really buy it, but he was cute so... ::heart

Have met:
Dean Cain (Superman from Lois and Clark), down to earth nice guy.
Peter Weller (Robocop, Buckaroo Banzai) nice old dude. Man, he looks a lot older up close than when you see him on TV.
Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) friendly, though real quite.
Charlie Cox (Daredevil) Met him before season 2 had premiered on Netflix, I was surprised he was British when I heard him speak for the first time. By then I'd stopped watching TV.
Jon Bernthal (Punisher, Walking Dead) Nice fella, nice positive attitude. Same like Charlie Cox, met him before Season 2 of Daredevil came out.

When I lived for a few years in a large capital city that I prefer not to specify I often happened to meet TV presenters, more or less famous actors or writers, perhaps humbly sitting in the subway like anyone else. I remember that this aspect had greatly impressed me, since where I live now in Italy, celebrities certainly do not go unnoticed, with their fancy cars and flashy clothing. Going back to my experience in the capital, I noticed that these celebrities, although they were blatantly recognized through looks of - shall we say - contained astonishment from people close to me, they were respected in their privacy, an aspect that I always found very fair.

But was he even literate?

I met the suit actor for Darth Vader David Prowse once I also met Roger Craig Smith, Lindsay Seidel and Ryan Bartley. I'm hoping to meet a bunch of Tokusatsu actors soon but I need a lot of money for that lol

Met Trump during a Halloween party, at-least I think I did I was a kid.

I've spoken before about how I met Saki Fujita (Japanese voice actress and vocal provider for Hatsune Miku) during an event when I visited Japan. It was a simple "Hi hello, here's a signature print, now move along" sort of thing but was still awesome.

I'm from the same hometown as WWE wrestler Randy Orton and have bumped into and made small talk with him on a couple of occasions. He is, from my experience, a very nice man.

The only one I can think for is seeing Carlos Valderrama in a Colombian Airport, Either El Dorado Bogotá or The Rafael Núñez, Cartagena de Indias.

A girl i dated won X Factor, i did date her before she was famous.
I have met the guys from Doctor Krápula (A band from my country).
I know a few TV presenters.
I have met Julioprofe (Latinamerican youtuber who teaches math).

So growing up at the end of the 70s into the 80s, Two big characters of my childhood were the Hulk and Godzilla. The live action Hulk when I was a wee lad was the shit, when it'd air on Friday nights, bug off I'm watching.
Or every Thanksgiving, WOR in New York airing a Godzilla triple feature back then. I watched every year.
So getting the chance to meet both guys who portrayed the characters was must.

Got the chance to thank Lou for his dedication to character. He's voice of the Hulk to me too since he voiced him in Hulk 96 cartoon. Fred Tatasciore comes second to me. Mark Ruffulo can get lost.

I wish I'd known Japanese to thank Harou Nakajima for everything he did, though the translator did for me. Could have met the other two actors who played Godzilla, but I was "Nah, Nakajima suffered the most playing Godzilla and almost even died filming the ending to King Kong vs Godzilla. And he's one I grew up with." He was funny and when him and the other two actors were on stage with someone in a Godzilla costume he got the tail and jammed it into the behind of the Millennium series actor in fun.

I've met a few.

I met Motifour of the band Tricot. I went to one of their shows years ago and she came out after the show and hung out, but basically everyone had left so it was basically just me, her and my friend hanging out chatting. She was really cool. I haven't listened to the band in a long time, but that show was a good memory.

I met Takafumi Adachi who wrote one of the various Beyblade manga (seen above). I had contacted him to ask about something and he said we could meet irl and he would explain, so we met at a place in Ginza and talked for a while about manga. I learned a lot from talking with him, and he was very nice. I still can't believe he did that.

I haven't met anyone beyond that, but since I live in Tokyo I know of certain celebrities that grew up or lived nearby. One baseball player grew up in the building next to mine, and a certain idol who was popular in the 1980s grew up in the next town over and her father was one of my wife's patients a while back. Yuzo Koshiro lives nearby me, maybe one day I'll get lucky and bump into him. I'm pretty sure the author of the Megami Tensei novels lives nearby me too.

Dennis Rodman's sister lived on my street and I went to elementary school with his niece - sometimes he would shoot baskets with us at school, but then he kinda disappeared after the whole wedding dress incident around 1997 or so

I've met a lot of musicians and bands...
Trivium, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Shadows Fall, Red Fang, Forged In Flame, Impending Doom, Battlecross, Polkadot Cadaver, Beneath The Hollow, Diamante, John Dolmayan (System Of A Down), Nonpoint, Heavygrinder, Billy Kramer, Bizzy Bone, Gost, Shea Coulee, The Dread Crew Of Oddwood, Mantra Of Morta, Pig, Pigface, Jackdaws, Convictions, Amon Amarth, Inferi, Spite... probably more I'm not remembering atm.

I've also met: Dave Dorman (comic book artist), Jeff Corwin, Hip-Hop Trooper (cosplayer), Svengoolie, Jason Faunt (Power Rangers: Time Force Red Ranger)
