I put it in quotes because it doesn't need to be a global celebrity, just someone famous enough for you. In a gaming context I've taken pictures with Naoki Yoshida and Ikumi Nakamura when they came for an event, and in a more general one (though probably only relevant for fellow brazilians) I once met Silvio Santos in an airport, though he was quickly swarmed and I didn't want to bother an elderly man for a picture. What about you?

Yes, I met both Martin Palermo and "Chapulin" Cardetti (Argentinean footballers) while shopping with my dad. Palermo even signed a freaking potato chip bag I had on me, which blew my mind as a kid.

Much later I ran into a couple of players from Arsenal de Sarandi on the barber shop. They were all very nice.

The closest I got to meeting something of a celebrity was when the local weather man came to my school when I was a kid.

An autographed potato chip bag is a very funny concept

I was once taking a leak at an e3 Sony press conference and Adam Sessler came up and peed next to me

(so no, my answer is no)
Hahah you've got a point

In 2016 in highschool I meet Arturo Gallegos L. And he gave us his book and his autograph to anyone who asked for it. To this day I still have that Book.

(Censored the thing a little in case he still uses it)

Ray Allen met with my family at a game when I was a young kid. And uh..I stood behind pat the NES punk in line to get through TSA like 5 years ago so that’s pretty exciting

I've met many artists and composers who have worked on games I love and I'm also friends with some indie devs and industry veterans but it's purely on a "yo let's play Monster Hunter" basis. Probably the one my friends always bring up is I accidentally met the Vtuber GawrGura on VRChat some odd years ago now who I did not know at the time since I don't really watch Vtubers and I had a full blown conversation with her for maybe 8 minutes about random things before she had to go. I thought nothing of it but apparently she was streaming at the time and a mutual friend I had blew up my phone about it. I don't really consider her a celebrity though but a lot of other people certainly do.

Doesn't really count at all but a close friend of mine got a signed letter from Barack Obama in HighSchool for having a perfect grade record, he had straight A's in every class for his entire time going through school.

To preface, I'm from somewhere in Asia.
Best friend's sister is a former idol, we already acquainted since we were kids so it doesn't feel weird when she became well known.

A famous musician from my country is actually grandma's neighbor, only seen him in person about twice in my entire life tho.

The rest are from conventions and stuff, nothing special.

I've seen Mauricio de Sousa offering autographs (alongside with quick drawings) in an event once, unfortunately the line was too big and he left before I could get one

Oh! I supposedly have his autograph from a school trip to his studio when I was very young, though he wasn't there that day so idk if the autograph is legit

I went to one of his stand-up shows several years ago, and he hung around for a bit afterwards to meet-and-greet with a few members of the audience. I actually managed to shake his hand, which I understand is not an easy thing to do. The show sucked, but he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

By the same token, I also met once-popular British comedian Jack Whitehall after he did his first stand-up show in Vegas. Right after his show was over, I went to play some three-card poker at a table, and he sat down next to me. We were the only two people there – I don't think anyone really knew who he was. I told him I really liked his show (kind of a lie, the guy who opened for him was several billion times better) and he shyly thanked me.

We then both downed a few whiskey-and-cokes together, and I won $600 before getting up to play a Monopoly slot machine instead. SCORE!!!!!

  • Talked with Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club, Choke, etc) at a book signing. Cracked a joke about writing a review of Haunted. He laughed and told me to not give him details. (Context: A character in Haunted kills people who leave bad reviews.)
  • Met Howard Zinn (historian and author of A People's History of the United States) at an anti-war rally. We bumped into each other by accident. He wasn't too interested in talking. (To be fair, he was busy.)
  • Met Winona LaDuke (Native American rights activist and former Ralph Nader running mate) at a university speech and discussion. She seemed nice though slightly rambly.
  • Came within inches of Jello Biafra (legendary punk rocker and original vocalist for the Dead Kennedys). He walked towards me and I froze up. Turns out, he just needed to talk to the roadie next to me.
  • Didn't talk to either, but I once managed to get pretty good seats for public speeches by Noam Chomsky (#1 most cited living academic in the world, #4 in history) and Maya Angelou (major American poet). The former was more interesting than the latter.

Yeah.
Several.
Mixed bag.
One Star Trek: TNG cast member (probably not who you're thinking) in particular was just a real piece of work....
On the other hand, Jamie Bamber (Apollo from the Battlestar Galactica) is an absolute sweetheart of a man.

One of my parents is a famous musician and poet where I'm from, and I've met other famous people that way.
My other parent works in theatre and I've met famous actors that way (My favorite is that they're colleagues with a guy who's done dubbed voice work for Disney stuff in my country since the 80s, he's the sweetest guy ever).

I also want to meet my idol @Gorse so that I can beat him up and put him in his place. In Super Smash Bros, of course.
