Have you ever grown fond towards a game you once hated?

I hated vehicular combat games but once I started playing the twisted metal series then I found out it was pretty cool!

Maybe not a specific game but more the genre. I thought I hated racing games but I realized I was playing bad ones...

Quite surprised by how often Final Fantasy and Square adjacent RPGs have been brought up.
Been meaning to play through FFIX to pop my Final Fantasy cherry as ive never sat down to try the series proper.
Its been really interesting seeing what clicked and didn't click. Thank you everyone

The Dragon Quest series. As a kid, I thought it was "too kiddy" (lol) and hated it, despite playing through the GB ports...But of course as an adult it became endearing and even nostalgic, and is now one of my favorite series.
