Once again I can start with my favorite YouTuber of all time "SomecallmeJohnny" who also runs a let's play channel called "SuperGamingBros" (yes very original), which these days consists of him, his half brother, his best friend, and his uncle. Their whole stick is that they are super unprofessional and are just having fun with whatever they play. I have had some seriously good laughs in the 15 years I've been following them. Mostly from all the random crap Matt (the best friend) spews sometimes, when they played Sonic 3: "I wasn't aware that inanimate objects could form allegances, then again BioShock has taught me about boiling water having sentient thoughts." ...yes that's the kind of dry humor we are dealing with, and I love it :P
Because John is so humble he didn't wanna create a Patreon to ask anything in return for his years of content until a couple years ago, and feeling I owed him for all those years I immediately jumped on the chance.
Then there's Arlo who I'm sure most know about. The blue muppet talking about Nintendo and having an unhealthy fixation on Pikmin. There's MattMcmuscles who runs a couple shows like "Worst Fighting Games" and "Wha' Happun'?!" the latter of which where he talks about a game or movie based on a game that's had a rough development. Speaking of rough developments there is GVMERS who does something similar, only they tackle entire franchises per video. There is also That VideoGames Show where the guy digs up more or less obscure game recommendations for various consoles.
And finally there is SuperSisi, who I don't even remember how I stumbled upon, but she regularly uploads some really interesting obscure Japanese gaming trivia on her site. Like, not just trivia in and off itself, but also sometimes accompanied but photos of old magazines or ads etc. Other times it's just whatever she finds cool e.g fanart and stuff. I recommend checking her out.
Anyone else pledged their undying loyalty to a Patreon creator?
...oh right, there's also Ahoy who does some super high quality game documentaries. Like his "arms in games" series where he most recently talked about the real life origins of the chainsaw and how it became a trend in both movies and games as anything BUT a wood cutting tool, plus asking the question of whether or not it realistically is an ideal weapon. Or his 1 hour long documentary on "the first video games" where he takes a deep dive on what even defines a video game in the first place. You can put that video on in the background while doing chores and just let his accent melt you away.
While I am subscribed to him on YouTube I am not supporting him on Patreon as he uploads very rarely. It's quality for sure and very much worth supporting, but still. He is like JonTron: only appears a couple times a year.. but then you KNOW it's gonna be good.
...oh right, there is MightyKeef as well who does some hilarious sketches.
