The Sonic Adventure games are honestly the Blue Blur's best 3D outings to be honest. They're tied with the Spyro games (specifically the original trilogy and Legend: A New Beginning) and Raymans 2 & 3 as my favourite 3D platformers.

Probably my most nostalgic game in all honesty if I think about. Still has one of the best soundtracks of any game I’ve ever played too. I love you Sonic Adventure 2, even when they kept trying to tell me you were secretly garbage all along, I never listened ::heart

I put WAY more time into this game than I care to admit. The game on steam does not reflect how long I've played this game at this point since I've had it since I was a small kid. Played this until 2 disks gave out over the years and have kept playing the game on a school craptop until I could get it officially on steam again. It's always a fun time when playing through the game long after burnout should have already set in like in so many other games I've played. That's gotta count for something.

Sonic Adventure especially SA1, still one of the best and most unique 3d platformers ever made
I wouldn't use the "legendary" adjective for this game (or any platformers outside of Super Mario 64) but it was indeed the swan song of the Dreamcast and Sega's hardware in general.
Sonic Adventure > Super Snoozefest 64

I don't care what anyone says. This is my sonic game. I've spent so many hours playing this as a kid. Even know, though it's not perfect, it's what I think of when I think of Sonic. Also Live and Learn is amazing.

Loved it, but haven't played it since the DC days. Guess it might be time to fire up the old Dreamcast and see what is what. And also to confirm how loud I remember the Dreamcast being. Not quite up to Xbox 360 standards, but still very loud for such a tiny console

Wow! Time really flies, doesn't it? Anyway, Sonic Adventure 2 is a good game, but I still prefer the first Sonic Adventure. I'm not really a big fan of the Knuckles/Rogue stages; I think they're a massive slog (Meteor Herd and Mad Space are some of the worst stages in the franchise, to be honest).

But aside from that, the Sonic/Shadow levels are really good and fun, and I’ve honestly always thought that the Tails/Eggman levels were relatively decent (definitely better than the Knuckles/Rogue levels) and this game still has one of the better-written stories in the franchise (even though the shonen melodrama-style of writing in this game would eventually lead us to Sonic 06, where the story in that game is a complete clusterfuck and fucking terrible), but aside from that, I appreciate how ambitious this game's narrative is when compared to other 3D platformers

Shadow (especially in this game) is easily the most complex character in the entire franchise, and the soundtrack and atmosphere of this game are truly spectacular!

Also, the Chao Garden in this game is a lot better than the first Adventure.

Man 25 years feels like an eternity.
I still remember sitting down and playing this on a dreamcast at my grandparents house after just finishing the first game. It was a hell of an experience back then, even if I don't enjoy it quite as much as I used to these days.

Gonna go and listen to Escape from the City again a quick minute.
