i want hajime no ippo victorian spirits psp game translated asap. i really like it but because of japanese i frequently get lost.

Such is the case for a lot of games that are only in Japanese, I am learning so I can play games and once I started reading for practice it dawned upon me that I could read it, and I am succeeding at my goal. Perhaps someday I can make fan translations

I've played through many a Japanese game using google lens. It's a hassle and my arm get's a little swore from holding my phone up to the screen for so long, but if you have as much enthusiasm for games a I do you'll do it.
I also did a bit of Japanese study the past few years. Just being able to read the basics will get you far. From there you'll start to pick up more and more words. The farther you go the less you'll have to rely on lens.

There's quite a few games in Japanese that I'm in playing. To the point of also considering learning the language.

That being said, since I don't really have any issues running Retroarch, I might give their AI translator a try.

Well you can always use real-time translation programs like Gaminik. It's a program that you select where in your screen should be translated -> you press a button to detect and translate that area -> it displays the translated text on your screen.
