What is Metroid like ? I have never played one of their games before.
Usually in platformer games you can just go from A to B and your only way you do it is jumping and shooting around. In Metroid series you have huge places to explore and different ways to reach different parts of the "open world" map by unlocking abilities.

"Why Metroid series is different?":

There is a sense of exploration that the sense of survival brings. It brings a sense of freedom by satisfying your curiosity. As you gain abilities you unlock different parts of the map to satisfy "I wonder what's there" curiosity. It increases gameplay time.

As an action game, normally ordinary action-platformer games kinda seem like "you just gotta go right" sense. It may feel dull. It may even seem like killing is pointless. In Metroid games there seems to be a point of killing just to progress and explore.

Junkoid, don't get the name wrong, the game is pretty fire, using the mOTHER+99 patches as a base was a win, since you get all the benefits of them as a bonus, is a original story (A girl called Junko is stalked by nightmares and goes into her mind to sop the Serpent Demon Asmodeus and source of them) with beutiful tracks, is like a modern Soul-slike metroidvania in your NES, and unlike most Metroid Hacks, this one is thinked for casual audiences, so if you can't pull the crazy shit speedrunners do, you will still enjoy the game

I believe thetre is a sequel based on Super Metroid, but haven't played it

Ok thanks for the explanation.
