Action, Sci-Fi, Mecha 3 Episodes aired in 2023
I saw only the first episode, it was ok for a mini series with main purpose promoting Gundam Model kits. I liked this two sided version that shows the characters in real life and the digital where logging in the Metaverse when all the battle are.
I also noticed (again through my experience, yeah i know it's a curse) that the protagonist's name is Rio Hojo, by the Hōjō clan was a samurai family who controlled the hereditary title of shikken (regent) of the Kamakura shogunate between 1203 and 1333, one of the oldest and more traditional Clans in Feudal Japan. Guess what it all add ups, i was right again.
A boy named Rio is enjoying Gunpla Battle in the new Internet service known as the Gundam Metaverse Project. After installing a login set in his room at home, he dives into the Metaverse, together with the Lah Gundam he created with this day in mind. Yeah it's so easy watching it rolls so fast, the 20+ minutes seemed too short, got also more characters from the previous Build Series that's what makes it even more interesting, because the mecha fans can see characters they already know with new Mobile Suits. He lives in Hawaii and learns how to build Gunpla from a local hobbyist named Seria Urutsuki. In the metaverse, a figure known as Mask Lady teaches him the art of Gunpla battling, and he strives to get better at it every day. With his custom Lah Gundam, he seeks out ever stronger opponents.
Another positive aspect from my point of view as a fan, is that you can see a lot of popular mobile suits customized in sometimes funny ways but also dark and serious mechas through a massive collection. Recognizing things about it, while watching the series is super fun, but on the negative side has some moments a bit more ''childish'' for people who liked more the heavy Mecha war, reality prospect. I don't know about the reviews on this one i didn't ever bother to look, for me is ok for a mini series with main reason Promotion of Gunpla in Europe, North America, in Asia is already booming.
The story is set in the same universe of the Gundam Build series in an online metaverse space where users can use avatars to move around and interact with other users, including conducting Gunpla (Gundam plastic model) battles with them. I wished for a longer series like this one, but in a more Drama, War, Reality version background so the Villains and also the side characters even with little screen time, will be more important in progress and unforgettable like Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket 1989 or Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory 1991.
Anyway thanks for reading, tell us about your thoughts about this series of all the Build Universe or your experience on Gunpla. Until my next Thread, see you.
