With the Switch 2 being more powerful, it'll be interesting to find out if it can run PS2 games in the future.

At most a Year honestly.

If the Question also include Emulation bump that up to 2 Years, and add another 2 to 4 Years on top of it with Nintendo Oyabun in mind, then add another 4-8 for Optimization reason.

But in all seriousness definitely only need a Year.

Then you'll realized the only way to play Kingdom Hearts on the Switch is with a PS2 emulator...

The question is will it sell enough for people to put an effort into modding it

At first I thought you meant something like "How long will take for Doug Bowser to ruin Switch 2"... which made me start imagining Denuvo on Switch 2... oh god.

My guess was 1~2 years. We should expect more robust security, although Nintendo consoles always gains attention in the hacking community.

What does Bowser want with the Switch 2? He’s already got a Mario Kart race at launch

I know this sounds heretic but do we really need the Switch 2 to be hacked?

We need a Bowser game. Sure, Inside Story was the goat, but it's time for another one.

Yes.

1. Piracy. Nintendo games are largely unaffordable in a lot of places, making them more inaccessible
2. Development of emulators. Even people who dumps their original copies might prefer the PC experience
3. Emulators on the Switch. NSO library is pathetic. A jailbroken one becomes a general purpose hybrid emulation machine, while keeping the aspect that it can run Switch 2 games natively.
4. Homebrew, for running decomps and ports, using mods on the console, and also because making homebrew is simply fun, especially on hardware with unique functionalities. Also, Linux.

What does it mean to go Bowser'd?

Do we tho? Just get a steam deck.

LOOOL, I loved reading this. Yeah the S2 run will be… interesting.

I'd go as far to say that all consoles should be, free the prisoner!
TRUE!
given enough time man will find the way to hack every console. this is the duty god gave us when he bestowed upon us the gift of consoles.
i will never get a switch 2 probably and just wait for emulation but i pray for the success of its hacking within the first three months.
