Not shocking and especially not shocking after news of Rockstar "allegedly" union busting. There was news of the union busting and firings with employees anonymously addressing things online then next thing you know the news is drowned out by the delay. Very convenient. tbh I'm not hyped about the game like most "normal" people are cuz every move they make now feels insidious. I feel like a lot of the delays don't have as much to do with the quality of the product but their desire to maximize profits. Rockstar has the money and the resources. Sure GTA VI will be massive but that company can handle it. What I believe is that a lot of the delay has to do with maximizing profits on the "Online" front. The new version of GTA Online is going to be wicked work. Most likely we will never see story DLC in VI and a lot of the effort has shifted to Online like the original GTA Online. Shoot, they pulled the plug on Red Dead Online's further development for VI and I wouldn't be surprised if those teams went straight to work on helping implement the online aspect.

Folks wanna bring up Cyberpunk 2077 and the mess CD Projekt RED made and eventually cleaned up but I don't believe the comparison is valid at all. I don't think the situation is the same at all. Matter of fact, I hold that game in higher regard than GTA V::thinking

But that's my thoughts on it. Again, I think its Rockstar trying to maximize profits while in the meanwhile ghouls keep pouring money into the current GTA Online. I could be wrong but I don't trust them when they say this is mostly about the quality of the product.

I'm not too fussed about the delay, like you said it's not surprising, especially given the scope, detail & sheer polish this will have, i want to experience this event game with all the potential bells and whistles, this moment occurs once in a blue moon after all & in a current age of questionable releases especially this generation, even more so. Big deal moment for me come next November.
Gonna go watch Trailer 2 again, been a hot minute.

DeAgain, what a shame I don't have a PS5, we'll have to wait until 2050.

No surprises there.

Unfortunetly the triple A industry works in a unsustainable way for quite some time now and this delay is just a symptom of a much larger problem.

The only think that really gets on my nerves is how poorly the workers are treated and when they complain, the majority of """gamers""" just trash them online instead of giving them support

Going by the trailers they've shown, I think the QA/Polish effort is astronomical. But yeah, they are known for crunching people until they go into a comma, same thing happened with RDR/RDR2.

I bet they're struggling to retain talent in this key moment of development so the delay was inevitable.

From the video game industry point announcement of release date never means "we know we will release the game on that date" and it would be very stupid to rush for that date anyway because you cannot predict if a game can be ready to launch in that day because shit happens and likely to happen as the project gets so complex, involve lots of people and shit. They mostly use announcements of release dates to judge the reaction of society. Sometimes it is used to make your stock prices and the interests of investors active. In the end delays are a necessary reality but it can hurt customer expectations and your company's image. While people will wait anyway and play it when it releases anyway what matters is to justify the delays by actually releasing a significant bug-free game as much as you can, otherwise customer trust for you and customers' willingness to buy your future game will be shattered. Often when it happens those who never even knew the existence of the game buys the game when it released while die-hard fans may lose interest and never buys the game after so many delays, and the future of customers of the company shifts to "people who are unaware of the past of the company" by losing core customer-base. It's not spoiler alert to say that often people who actually care a lot about a game will likely to be dissappointed, because their emotions clouds their judgement enough to prevent them from actually appreciating the game as it is. Often being the passenger of the hypest train make customers expect impossible shit from the game they wait for and it can even lead to "I want something amazing but I actually have no idea what I want" mentality that necessarily make fans dissappointed in whatever game they waited for. Considering this my preffered way to release a game is making sure the game is ready to release and then announce the game will release after 3 months and it does without any delay. From the business point it is the best way to play this game.

Around the internet GTA 6's delay is a subject of urban legend without any way to be sure what happens in the background. But we know Rockstar had employee problems due to many reasons from time to time and it is a realistic reason to delay a game.

When it comes to CyberJunk 2077 shit is too different. It was just about intentionally delaying the game to make people more impatient while putting on a show on "how the game may be". They fed the people with lies and false hopes to make the game reach to impossible state just to make customers sated by listening to what kind of food was coming up. It was a stupid PR move. However the game was nowhere near for actual launch. It made shareholders got impatient and forced an early launch by playing on its popularity and it made even console companies play along with that BS just to make a sell. In the end they made CDPR their bitch to make money by sacrificing CDPR. As a result it was the most stupid shit in the history of video game industry. People were so blinded by hype they still loved a game that is barely a game to begin with. It took years for stupid sheep to realize the game is not even an RPG as they promised, and they were even okay that it released with tons of features that still have not been added into the game. They reduced what kind of game was going to come like you expectedcted a nice cooked pig but they gave you one gum to eat lol. People pre-ordered that shit and never noticed how bad the game is, and most still don't. If it didn't have open world gameplay and crime simulator aspect the game had no chance to even make a profit because when the game is shit it at least means something for modding community. In the end its BS pardoned just because of how useful the game is. And then they released its anime and most of the people who bought the game actually the kids with rich daddies who bought the game just because "yo I watched its anime, not that I would play this shit" lol.

Game's gonna be huge, so delays are honestly to be expected (and Rockstar has the goodwill to ride them as much as necessary without losing points with neither the public nor the press).

... But I'm curious as to what they are going to make of it. At this point the only thing that can purely separate each entry is the stories they all follow, and none are particularly good (although, they ARE serviceable).

I can pretty much guarantee that Rockstar would rule on the environment and level design departments yet again, then probably deliver GTA: III: Blow-Your-Mind Edition™ for the sixth time in a row.

(And yes, I'd still buy it regardless).

I am weird position I haven't play any GTA because of it crime (I am grew up on Punisher and Max Payne so umm I hunt those gangster)

But maybe 50 GTAVI will release (let's accept that it either they really make or none)

The only decent GTA game is GTA San Andreas, and really a game I would recommend to anyone. The rest of the GTA games can suck my dick lolol. Imagine Final Fantasy 6 character variety and depth with Radiant Historia deep story in the context of a guy trying to escape from the ghetto but gets back for his family and does all the fun crazy shit by being pawn of the game just like Max Payne while you buy tons of house and clothes for your CJ, learn some fighting moves, build muscles, explore tons of haircut, beard and tattoo options, pimp your car, explore 3 fucking city by being dragged by your destiny that all cards are against you but then he says "yo fuck it homie" and becomes da boss by even have to sacrifice his loved one and that scene and story point is what Hideo Kojima stole for Metal Gear Solid 3's ending!!! lolol

ayy lmao

And then don't tell me you also didn't play Saints Row 4 too, then I would have a heart attack!!! Don't tell me you didn't connect to matrix and flied around lolol!!! If you even had disliked GTA SA then better play Saints Row 4. You can't miss out playing these really amazing games before you die yo!!!

putting 20$ the saints row prequel comes out before gta vi

Better polish the game the best way possible.

The only games that I played from this series was GTA 3 and San Andreas but only partially.
I hope for the best that the delay would make the game be in the best shape it can be.
Although, It would not surprise me if it's turns out terrible due to the employee treatment and other short-sight profit decisions.
