To put it simply, games that after all the time you invested you ended up like
1752184046248.webp

With all said, share you inco

- Firewatch
- Everhood 2 (debatable on how good it is, I think it's good as its own game)
- A myriad of NES games

Evil Within 1's ending kinda sucked imo. And that's a game I wasn't super into to begin with.

Planet Laika... I can't believe that's the ending, what the ducking duck of donald duck did happen? They're all dead or there's only two persons in the whole mars living in a illusion? Is the process of the new world they're making? Or Laika just wanted to play with their toys for no reason?

Well Mass Effect's the series ending was so flat, way flat than a paper lol. Even in the original Resident Evil 3 my choices felt way more "it did matter". The series had great potential but they didn't have vision.

Sleeping Dogs

It was my first Platinum Trophy ever and I wasn't even into getting 100% on games, specially open world games like that one.

All that effort, countless hours just for a 30 seconds cutscene that doesn't deliver anything.

Majora's Mask Ending, even the 100% one leaves lots of questions unanswered, even removing the bits that are just World Building or part of the nightmare-esque ambience:

  1. ¿What happens to Link, how he even returns to Hyrule? (And what happened to him to become the Hero's shade?
  2. Wha't the deal with the Happy Mask Salesman?
  3. How in the name of Hylia he got his hands in a Mask that can FUCKING SENT A ENTIRE KINGDOM TO THE SHADOW REALM?
  4. Why he insist on keeping it instead of destroying it?
  5. What's the deal with Termina itself?
  6. And most important... ¿DOES LINK FINDS NAVI AGAIN?

All i got is the usual "Link is die" theory, but is only a theory a game theory so i don't accept it as a fact

Someone already said it but for me, it's Firewatch and I actually liked the twist in the story.

inb4 "hurr durr that's the point, it's just like real-life." I don't give a damn if it's like real life, i'm playing a video-game for christ sake. If I want to experience "real-life", i'd go outside, talk to people and touch grass.

Ok, I know WHY they did it, but FE Fates Birthright. That was like the one ending where I VERBALLY said "...wait, is that it?"

Like I get why they did it: They want you to play Revelations to get the True Ending, but at the same time if you're one of those people who didn't know about this, I can imagine it being a super disappointing ending.

Probably the most oddball entry to this category was I felt like Obitus for the Super Nintendo. It was years later before I found out that it was on the Amiga and MS-DOS platforms as well, but the SNES ending felt so - empty. Between the lack of credits of who created the game, but it just felt underwhelming. The text kind of explained what happens after retrieving the last of the gems/treasures. Have only played it a bit and watched a few others complete it so long ago...

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory.
At least that's the one that came quickly to my mind. The end is sad, I was not expecting that in a Digimon game(I know one could say, digimon 01 ending is sad but this was a kind of different sadness). I did not wanted to end it like that.
The game makes you feel like you can save a person(health problem), but its not possible. She'll be gone, she's even deleted of everyones memory but not of you the protagonist, who even shares a tear when going to her room(which is just a storage with boxes and stuff). At the final moment tho the camera zooms in to a screen monitor and you can see her figure along with her digimon in pixel art on the screen, she's in the Digital World.

Kingdoms of Amalur: after more than 80 hours of gameplay I defeat the ONLY dragon in the entire game then my "ally" says this is just the beginning then the credits roll, go f$$$ yourself game.

Chrono Cross: both main endings are super incomplete.

Mass Effect 3: 4 endings that are 4 flavors of crap.

Pokemon TCG on the Gameboy .
You beat the Tournament , you beat your rival and finally get the "legendary" Pokemon cards which .... were utter garbage . Maybe the moltres has its use but the rest of it were only fancy drink mats . Even those best of the best players at the end you need to beat , get wrecked by those horrible cards because the effects are 50/50 Chance to either damage the Pokemon of your opponents immensly or damage your Pokemon immensly .

Does that mean that my overpowered Nidoking Card is the equivalent of a Yu-Gi-Oh god card ? Is Rapidash or Tangela the exodia of the Pokemon TCG because the coin-flip mechanic was extremly easy to abuse ? Who determined that these "legendary" cards are legendary ? Barney Stinson in a nostalgic Pokemon depression ? Or was it Imakuni , that god-damn third-rate stranger-danger spandex weirdo that i kicked his ass often and beating his third-rate deck with ease ?

Always wanted to beat Kingdoms of Amalur , but couldnt because it became very tedious at the end.

But that ending sounds like the perfekt cliffhangar to hate . Especially one that never resolves and wont see a sequel . What a dissapointment .

In Yu-gi-oh! Tag Force 3 depending of which partner you select the ending can basically be "so yeah, the year is over, nice memories!! bye"
