o-o-one day theyll put it on PC...one day! For now ill enjoy them screwing the fanbase over with its grinding for Credit mechanics on GT7!

So what's the general consensus on the best one? Gotta be either 3 or 4, right?
The general consensus is 3 or 4, with 2 and 5 being a clear but close step behind. I definitely actually beat and enjoyed 3 more, but 4's probably better for die-hard fans since it has more content.

reminds me of a quote from Jim Ryan a few years back when he was talking about backwards compatibility.

just my 2 cents by Grand Turismo 4 is still a fantastic looking game and one of four games on the PS2 that you can play in 1080i. Jim Ryan is full of it.

GT4 is my favorite, and, I feel, also the best.

As for the series, in general? Ehhhh. I've certainly sank hundreds of hours into GT - GT5, but I never really found myself enjoying them all that much. I always kind of felt like I was grinding away, waiting for the game to "get good" at some point.

Looking back, I wish I had spent more of my time playing other, less-realistic racers. Sega Rally. Wipeout. Ridge Racer Type 4. F-Zero GX. Those are the ones I ride with now - and games similar to them. I haven't touched a Gran Turismo title in well over a decade, and I simply don't miss them at all 🫤

Cool beans.
Willing to bet the ration of GT3/4 vs all the other entries leans towards the former heavily.

Despite its ups and downs it is a franchise I'll always enjoy. Even as someone who's not super into cars I've lost many hours in GT2, GT4 and GT5. Still sad we never got a GT on Vita, I'll probably take that disappointment to the grave lol.

Regardless, shoutouts to Polyphony on a legendary run with a legendary franchise. GT7 was solid but man the economy holds it back. Hopefully GT8 can finally be the full GT package we've been missing for over a decade now.
