Kusoview is a review for a game that i believe to be KUSOGE
I will also post it here because i'm bad at writing and wouldn't be able to write a coherent and nice article
(I'm writing this without sleeping for 24h so i might be write in a even more stupid way than i already do so bear with me with this nonsense)

NEON GENESIS EVANGELION (JAPAN) NINTENDO 64

So, this one i found using the randomizer function on the Repo(recommended function btw), and the concept of the game is very cool so i gave it a try.

It was labeled as """"fighting game"""" but in reality there is just a bunch of actual "traditional" fights in the whole game.
It has an excellent concept and it admittedly looks very cool specially for a N64 game. The graphics are cool, the cutscenes are cool, they were very careful to make it very canon to the show.
But what is the kusoge part? The fucked up shithead controls and gameplay.
Ohh how they made me fucking mad, and i don't even think it's just about the language barrier(i don't know shit about speaking Japanese, i barely know speaking English lmao)

The game can be mainly divided into boss fighting segments, where you enter a 2.5D fighting game style of gameplay but with excruciatingly long moves that have immense recovery, making it seem like turn based fighting game more than anything.
The game is full of long ass cutscenes that happen in mid fight for almost any move you do. You have to be prepared to when you whiff (even the whiff animation is longer than the longest thing you can imagine, fuck you do the analogy) and get punished to be put into an gigantic cutscene of you getting beaten and Shinji's suffering screams(very amusing). Not even counting the fact that every time you actually lose a fight you have to watch the gigantic girthy intro all over again.

The fights feel very much RNG since your opponent can sometimes just full screen command grab you and make you lose 60% of health. It also has this similar mechanic to Guilty Gear's danger time in which you should not stay too distant from your opponent and never attacking, which is fucked up since you need to evade some long range attacks (and Misato keeps screaming at your ear for backing off i hate her this bitch)

The last boss fight is the worse, because the opponent tries constantly to put you in this state of mashing to get out of his attacks but in the middle of the fight. He also is smart as fuck and evade every attack, so it's even slower as a fight.
FUCK YOU KAWORU FUCK YOU KAWORU FUCK YOU KAWORU

The rest of the game can be divided into: Quick Time Events, Rhythm Games, Mashing and Aiming against a hard to track point (Sometimes all at the same mission)
By far the worst are the mashing ones and the QTEs. You not only have to mash a button, but you also need to mash the A button and the C down button in sequence, as fast as you can, like VERY FAST, and sometimes have to change your direction mid action so it gets even worse, and i always fucking failed these parts and i was double punished by more long ass cutscenes(oh god make it stop, my fingers are as slow as my brain).

The QTEs are so fucking stupid, the game has so much problems catching the right input i did and sometimes they appear barely without any warning and making me lose the whole mission, and you guess it, more 394 hours of cutscenes for you
The mission where you save Misato is completely stupid, you have to Mash in completely unintuitive directions even for a N64 controller, i almost fucked my hand doing all that.

The Rhythm games are ok, they register well, but they let you catch no break, if you lost one single note you are off, wait all the game end and watch a cutscene to try again.
The Aiming part is ok, it is kinda hard to track but i guess it's the objective.

(Vibing with the oomfie)

Overall it's very cool game, it looks cool, the graphics are cool, weebs fans of the anime probably will love it, and it's a game i really tried to like, but the gameplay is so boring, massive and janky that i feel you do better just watching the cutscenes separately anywhere else( or if you didn't watch the anime yet, go do it now you maniac).
6/10 on the KUSO meter

Anyways, here is Asuka Inflation:

Great review. I have played through most of the EVA games on psp, and have been wondering about this one for a while. I have quite an aversion to QTEs however given this review I might have to try this now, Thanks. Ps. Dobson would love this game.
