This was following off of another post i made regarding fan service being the only thing to draw a consumer in, and then potential resulting in disappointment. Such games will be increasing to dominate in shear volume of availability with AI generated content ramping up, potentially flooding the market. So i think we need to set a standard for the games we totally buy for the story...>_>;;
I will get the ball rolling with:
Nier Automata
Very high quality story, awesome game play, replay ability.
Onechanbara
Millage may very, but ok game play, not much in terms of repeatability and while a guilty pleasure, i would not play this unless i got it on sale, and if there was nothing else available. This is a fine example imo, of a game that lets it's "plot" sell it over anything else of substance, and heck i will buy it, jut not at a premium..
