I'm planning on re-watching "Abigail" this halloween. It's such a good movie, I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. It's kinda like "From Dusk Til Dawn" in some ways.

But what spooky/halloweeny movies are your favourites? ???

Trick 'r Treat (2007) is one of my favorites.

All of these are from the 90s.

Underwraps
The Halloween Tree
Halloween Town
Nightmare Before Christmas
When Good Ghouls Go Bad
The Addams family
Casper
Can of Worms
Don't Look Under The Bed
Mom's Got a Date With A Vampire
Two Heads are Better Than None
The Haunted Mansion
Tower of Terror

I'm mostly into the older, campier stuff personally.

Anything Herschell Gordon Lewis (throw a dart at the list, personal recommendation is Two Thousand Maniacs ( 1964))
Any of Dario Argento's earlier movies (Deep Red (1975) is my personal suggestion)
Drive-In Massacre (1976)
The Driller Killer (1979)
Messiah of Evil (1973)
Braindead (1992)

Pretty much anything you could find on those "50 Classic Horror Movie" packs you could find everywhere this time of year in the 2000s and early 2010s ::rofl

There's some newer stuff that has that sort of classic feel too without being an outright ripoff, like X and by extension Pearl.

RedLetterMedia's Best of The Worse has a bunch of them.

One of my favourite films of all time. It was the reponsable for all the hype we have around Nicolas Cage currently! The first half is super slow and quirky, psychedelic also, then something happens and it turns itselft into a slasher with traits of Evil Dead. Good cosmic horror and also an interesting love story, i'd say.

/\ lol, I am definitely gonna check that out at some point. It looks crazy!

Be aware it can be a really strange journey. @.@

If i have to recommend one it would be noroi: The curse

It's a found footage mockumentary film about obviously a curse
this came out in 2005
its not particularly scary but it is creepy like very creepy

I think Opera might be my favorite Argento. Although I really dig a lot of his flicks.

I think about Titane a lot, although I've only watched it once. Because it was kind of like a fever dream, and it's a fun thing to think upon.

I cannot send enough love into the universe for I Saw the TV Glow existing. I think it might be the first trans horror flick by a trans person. It's existential dread, not gore-porn or anything like that. But I really felt touched by its sad ways, and have not only flipped back to watch it again but have told many others about it as a means to spread the word.

GL finding fun flicks, and ty to the others who posted stuff cause horror is my favorite genre =)!
