I don't know but I'm still a bit skeptical about this game it looks great but I don't know, maybe it wouldn't have been better if the story had continued with Jin Sakai ?

That's not the DEI part. What IGN doing here is trying to highlight how the devs are going for historical accuracy to gaslight people into thinking the game won't have any woke leftist propaganda. Big game journalist sites done similar things in the past.
Since the game isn't out, there is still the benefit of the doubt but the way they introduced this new protagonist is quite sus. Not to mention in the last couple of years, almost every western AAA Sony game was infested with DEI.

There's probably no need to lock the thread yet, but odds are there will be lol. That's the problem with stuff like this, no one can argue their side without it turning personal or into a fight.
People on "my side" of the aisle are just tired of being preached to about morality and sexism and racism when all we want to do is shoot space aliens or what have you.
Add in how demonized we become if we talk about not wanting gay space lizards explaining pronouns to us or whatever when the plot has no reason or rhyme for it.

That's my personal perspective on it, mileage may vary.

Hard to understand what this post even means when 'gaslight' and 'woke' are highly abused buzzwords that have no meaning anymore.

Especially 'gaslight'. It's basically the 2020s version of 'triggered': taking an actual serious psychological issue and infantilizing it. It's not a synonym for 'I disagree with you' or 'I think you're lying'.
