Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex (PSP)-A Game That Doesn’t Deserved To Be Ghosted

I’ve seen a lot of hate vented on this game although much can be said to all fps on the PSP. Aside from hardware limitations the lack of a second analog stick made it a bit awkward for fps games because you are forced to use the face buttons to aim.
Despite these flaws some games can deliver a solid gaming experience.

Another noticeable thing about this game is that it shares the same title of the PS2 third person shooter often mistaken this as a port.

Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex for the PlayStation Portable is first person shooter that serves as a sequel to the PS2 game of the same name. This is the third game in the general franchise and the second one based on the anime series produced by Production I.G. .

You play as one of the four operatives of Public Security Section 9 namely Major Motoko, Batou, Togusa and Saito.
Each character has their own stats and abilities for example Batou has most HP among the four while Saito can hold a sniper rifle more steadily.

You choose which character to use at the start of each mission. The game’s narrative is told through cutscenes and during the in game dialogues.

The game also features the use of 4 tachikomas just like the playable characters has their own stats and personalities.
They serve as your AI controlled partner which also can be given some tactical orders like stay behind and defend a specific portion of the map as a sentry unit or have it follow you around for support and cover fire.

You can also customize your tachikomas weapons load out with weapons hidden on a specific item or meeting a certain requirement. Tachikomas load out means for firepower that you can use throughout the mission. Aside from being your AI partner you can also board your tachikoma for added protection and firearms. This feature can be pretty useful especially if you ran out of ammo(which rarely happens for most of the enemies dropped off their weapons when they are killed) or when getting low on HP and there’s no health items in sight.
The game is divided into chapters and each one has four sub missions to complete which sums up to about four hours of gameplay plus multiple characters to choose from and tachikomas to tinker around for additional replay value.

This may not be a perfect game but it doesn’t mean it’s a terrible one either. A game despite its flaws offers a solid gameplay and a deep complex narrative that’s is truly worth playthrough.

Again thank you very for your time.

Gameplay
Though this game suffers the same issues found in all fps on the PSP the complex plot and fast paced action makes it a solid game.

Have you tried ordering your Tachikoma to hold its fire and make it stay in position.
Yes. You have to do it all the time because it resets to default settings every new area, and they won't let you go through doors to other areas or floors if the Tachikoma isn't nearby, so you can't really just leave it behind.
