Gex is such an underrated character. I'll put him between Conker but my god is he underrated.

He totally is! Just the fact that they gave him a bazillion costumes in one of the games shows how much they cared.

Plus, it's not like Crystal Dynamics was hurting for good mascot characters...

Overall, Gex is a good mascot! I like how he looks & like how he sounds. Even though I never understood (& probably never will) his quotes & references, it's his energy & comic relief that counts! And he has costumes compared to other mascots? That's huge! Would play Gex 64 over DK64 any day. ::booshy

GEX was a fun game and character honestly. It was an interesting idea having the character spout off one liners randomly or seemingly anyhow. The levels, if I recall had invisible trigger points that only activated on a set timer when you passed them. But the one liners kind of killed the game now.
(Also they do get FUCKING Annoying after the umpteenth time you hear them in one level)

It's very dated. Most new players wouldn't get them, and some would be outright offended by them. Take the Chinese level from Enter the Gecko. GEX made a lot of let's say, very 70s Kung-fu movie references in a stereotypical Asian voice, if you know what I mean.

I like the game even to this day but man, they did not age well. Also, GEX is probably the only good thing Dana Gould has ever done.

Aero the Acrobat will always be my fav of these big-3 inspired 90's platforming mascots tbh

-Coolest design that actually looks like it came from a Sonic game

-Was able to get an entire trilogy

-All 3 games range from good to great

-Made it to modern platforms via re-releases

Gex is a lot of fun too though! First game is my favorite in terms of visuals and music but the 3d ones ain't half bad either barring some of the more questionable one-liners Gex spouts out.

I didnt like the 2D platformer game, the levels were too long and repetitive to the point the game was just tedious. But its 3D games were pretty decent, nowhere near the best, but not the abomination people pretend they are. I only finished the second game though.

I thought the sprite work was pretty interesting at least. same people that did legacy of kain.

Would y'all say the games satisfy the collectathon itch in a way that the casual won't find horribly overbearing?
