Genesis Genesis vs Mega Drive which name do you like more ?

I prefer the Genesis since it's what I grew up with but I won't deny that Mega Drive sounds cool

I like the name MEGADRIVE .
While Genesis had that biblical oomph behind it , i rather like Megadrive more .

I mean , lets just say you wanna play with someone on your MEGADRIVE , it already sounds like its that high-tech device to go above and beyond . For example : " Hey dude , time to MEGADRIVE on Contra Hardcorps with no mercy ! "

Or on a successfull date : " Down for some MEGADRIVE-action ?"
(Girl must be into Sonic to make it work ..... i guess .)

I tend to nickname it the Genedrive. Rolls off the tongue.

Mega Drive sounds cooler, but I am incapable of saying it without feeling weird. I grew up calling it the Genesis or Sega.

Sega Genesis, no question.
It falls more in line with sega's naming conventions like the saturn and neptune and was designed to be the start of sega's rise (hence the name genesis, though they flubbed that up big time with the saturn), while i'm not bothered by the name mega drive, it feels a bit too copycat-ish of nintendo and nec naming conventions of the time.

I do however in every way, think the us sega cd ver 2 had the best intro music.

Mega Drive since is the original name even tho it was called Genesis in the Americas cause someone owned the trademark Mega Drive. Plus it sounds cooler

Me and my living in America bias makes me say Genesis. But Mega Drive is still a pretty awesome name.

Mega Drive is clearly the better name but it's corrupted by the stench of having to play Labyrinth Zone 18% slower than we did so I cannot abide by it.

I think Genesis sounds cooler and edgier which is what SEGA at least in America aimed for. Mega Drive sounds like a something you come across in coding class.

No offense to those who like the other name, but "Mega Drive" sounds like something you'd attach to your computer, not a fun gaming console.
