The First Star Trek just is my favorite of the Star Trek franchise for a good reason.

Same here. I'm torn however, I love TOS but I grew up watching TNG and that has a special place in my heart.

Picard as Loquatius and "Q" were incredible.

Yes I did but that been long in the past on my Ps4 it was fun until i lost the drive to play it.
I don't want to Imagine the update files size if I wanted to play it again.

also TNG is also good and for me its the opposite I grew up with the TOS I watched it often with older family members back in the day when it was aired.

I hear you, also watching the TOS back in the 70s with my parents and older siblings is how I learned about Star Trek and started my lifelong love of ST. But no matter how much I loved TOS, TNG always
seemed like MY star trek where as TOS was like i was watching a throwback (for lack of a better word).
I had downloaded STO like a year ago, but only recently started it. Using TOS time period and being
a Vulcan character of course.

I on the other hand switched to many things up trying every faction in STO
I admit I am the basic guy who picked human.
I also re watched many episodes of the TOS its always so nostalgic and it surprisingly aged quite well but maybe its just my nostalgia googles.

Speaking of Japanese vs Western (or NA vs PAL) naming convention I've always found Famicom/Family Computer nicer sounding than "Nintendo Entertainment System" (which sounds like a convoluted way to talk about a video game console). What is a non Nintendo Entertainment System anyway?

The PlayStation is a smart name because Play could refer both to playing video games as well as playing music (since that was its secondary function) and later movies via DVDs. Sadly the name PlayStation has lost its relevance with the PS4 and PS5 when they focused more on gaming than the "play music/movies" aspect of the hardware.

Xbox sounds like it's an alien thing (because X refers to the unknown such as X-files and the radioactive green hues it had). I know it's referring to Direct X but still.

Sega should've probably kept the planetary naming for their consoles.

Well I would liked if they had named it Famicom here to instead Nintendo like the Company which is not confusing as heck.
Also Playstation is a good name but I would have prefer the name Stationäressystemfürdasspielenvonvideospielenzuhause der ersten generation but well we can't all have our way

I think it's the Krash' fault so Nintendo has to have a different strategy in the US. You can see the cartridges and console design meant to attract western kids.

The Famicom being Gold and Purple wouldn't have been as attractive either (although I heard it was mostly because of how cheap those colours were).

I also think that since it's not a computer, calling it as such would be false advertising.

Well I was a western kiddo I like JRPGS Pixel Art games and I am not obsessed with 3d but I don't exist according to the market.
Also Purple is the color of royalty but of course the peasants who hate on that color don't know that.

Sorry I think I confused the colour, it's more reddish than anything but either way I think that maybe colours could've affected the sales. I would've gone for a darker looking console while keeping the overall shape.

Maybe I have no taste but I think it looks damn fine to me.
Also early 3d Games aged so poorly compared to 2d Games but hey we all had to jump on this bandwagon if we liked it or not.
Also I am not sure how much sales would have been affected per say the first Ps1 was grey sold very well the WII firstly came out as white also sold very well and this design also looks nice.

I did not look at the color though I did not care but I still ended up with only black consoles.
Well my Gameboy is Green and NDS is Grey so em I have that.
