A pretty decent port of a decent game. But unlike the previous installment, in this sequel you can play 4 players as in the arcade version.

About Dark Legacy... i´ve seen more than once people defending that its a really good game, but i look at the images and videos and think "for real? it looks really lame, actually". Already played Dungeon Explorer for PSP and now im playing Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2, both great games, specially BGDA2. How good is this Gauntlet compared to these mentioned games?

it really can't match up with the games you mentioned because it's not the same
i love baldurs gate DA games but they're full adventures with quests side quests buying gear and building up, in other words games you spent weeks or months on before you're done.
gauntlet isn't that kind of game.
Gauntlet, its an arcade game to begin with, the console versions of dark legacy do quite a bit of stuff more but still an ARCADE game, as in, in a decent day or two you'll finish all the levels and true final boss
the fun for me was, i liked playing with 2-4 players, you have teamup attacks and theres just a lot of things in co-op that are hilarious moments like shooting potions by accident, stealing food (which the game has voice lines for) and freaking out when Death shows up. it's fine alone but its a different experience on co-op. i lost count how many times i replayed it, with different friends and family, in the arcades as well
it's just a game i loved a lot, and always remember and play here and there, i've put extrensive hours into it somehow, 17 playable characters (and some cheats to play as a few others, mostly costume swaps, but also permanently play as the flame breathing Chicken Pojo is a code)
note i ALWAYS put the highest difficulty on dark legacy, it just adds more enemies which makes it more chaotic (and less empty) it really just makes you level up faster due to more mobs. but the boss fights will be tough. i found it more fun on higher difficulty.

but anyways, gauntlet isn't a fully serious dungeon crawler, its more like something you throw on for casual fun, or want something that won't take a month to finish. it's why i've replayed it so much i lost count.

This was Diablo before Diablo.

this is what made me play diablo, baldurs gate dark alliance 1 and 2, dungeon siege 1-3, Titan quest, and lord knows what else. Gauntlet legends started me into that. and prob RPG in general (i love me some dragon quest)

warrior and valkyrie used to have worse defense than wizard and elf?
that explains why i never got very far on NES lol

Gauntlet 4 (on megadrive/genesis) is very good in terms of retro gauntlet play,
and if anyone here has NEVER played gauntlet dark legacy GO PLAY IT NOW easily one of the best 4 player co-op games of ALL TIME.
