I just find the name cool.
Anyhow the term Red pill may also be suiting for this thread as I am asking you all what are some harsh truth you have learned and got to understand about games and the gaming industry in general
some may call those eye opening while others not a red pill you could say I drop a couple for example.

Digital Games you buy (not GOG but Steam/Sony/Xbox/Nintendo) are games you don't own you only buy a digital license and nothing more.

Game hype:Never get hyped for a newer game and don't trust the trailers wait till game release and get different opinions on the game never buy on release as the games are often broken and sometimes unplayable overpriced garbage.

Gaming Companies rather want there games to be lost forever then allow them to be contributed for free for Emulation even if they them selves don't sell them anymore.

Console gaming is going to die unless something like a wonder does happen.

Also since its about gaming keep Politics out of this thread

Eu simplesmente acho o nome legal.

UEI have never in my life watched The Matrix.

No matter what game series you enjoy, if it's long running, you will get to watch it change into something you no longer enjoy.

It doesn't matter how monetarily exploitative, shitty or trashy a game is, somebody will pay money for it.

Most modern games are designed to be addictive skinner boxes intended to extract as much money from the players as possible rather than being an enjoyable entertainment experience

You will never recapture the experience of playing through a game for the first time.

When it comes to digital games, I’m not worried about only owning the license. If a game disappears from the store, I just pirate it : I’ve already paid the developers, so I have zero moral dilemma. Still, it’s an issue that needs to be addressed.

I 100% agree about game hype. Pre-ordering these days is basically an invitation to get a fist shoved up our a°°es. And not in a sexual way.

I’ll also add this: no matter your skill level, there’s always a korean kid better than you.

Console gaming is the backbone of the gaming industry and always has been. PC gamers hate that particular red pill. It will never die.

OP didn't list a single real red pill
This is a matter of perspective my good Sir not everyone knew the facts I wrote and just because you knew them those not mean everyone does.

When you play a Online Match and a Chinese name pops up on your enemies team quit the game ;)

If you stop buying poorly made slop or DLC heavy games, they will stop making them

Ever heard of the black pill? It's a super concentrated form of the red pill that leads to clinical depression upon use. That's what I took and how I know all of them.

Want something new to the table? Gaming feels like it's becoming a rich man's hobby and that's on top of all the enshittification. The problem is buying and maintaining hardware in a sick economy because phones won't cut it for me. I've stockpiled plenty of consoles and storage over the years just for staying in the past but even if you do this know that you're one house killing disaster away from losing it all. I know Thanksgiving has passed but be thankful for what you have. Be very thankful.

Far too many people (especially gamers) are addicted to instant gratification and are increasingly impatient. Because of this, pre-orders remain a financially successful model that serves no one but shareholders and CEOs.

I think that it would take 5 years of gamers collectively voting with their wallets (I don't see this ever happening) if we want to force publishers to usher in a new era of gaming that can rival the 2000s era in terms of quality and quantity.

That's a good one, I agree. They're still selling millions and pushing technology. If it weren't for the silly consoles we'd still be using HDDs ::sailor-embarrassed
