Games you've spent tons of hours in but never beaten?

Sadly I am VERY guilty of doing this.
Sometimes you just don't want a game to end, you know?
Other times, I just get distracted by a new game before I finish my current game and then I forget where I was or what I was doing and I lose interest. I honestly hate when I do this.

Should do a sub-topic about what games have you beaten but never unlocked all the bonus features lol
( Disgaea 4 ... can't ... seem to get all the parts to go to Land of Carnage >_< )

I guess the only game I can think of is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Eyes of Heaven ... because I just had to get the JP version and couldn't guess my way out of it to beat the game :<

Ironically... Skyrim as well. I have no idea how many hours I've poured into it. I've definitely moved on after playing it BEYOND to death... but it's definitely in my top five most played games. Never once finished the main quest, and at most got about half way through it. Just had other things to do.

One day, I will conquer the whole map in Mount & Blade : Warband instead of restarting my campaign each time the army I took long time building got destroyed.

My current roguelite go to is Balatro (funny thing is, I don't even like poker as a game, but Balatro is really clever), and the ascension levels are called stakes. I haven't been able to beat White Stake (base diff) yet, haha.
I am thinking of getting Balatro, but I seriously can't decide on which platform. Some say mobile for portability and lord knowns I ain't gonna play my Switch in public, but I also NEVER play mobile games. Then there is Steam and PS5, but I just can't decide. Doesn't help there is no cross progression meaning unless I wanna buy the game multiple times and have different progress in each version I am stuck with the one I choose.

Around 200 hours in Skyrim, over 1000 in Minecraft, and 100 or so in Final Fantasy XV.

I love an open world game with a laid-back atmosphere that lets me relax and play at my own pace. I can't say for sure what separates Cyberpunk 2077 from the rest, as even though I have 200 hours in that game, I beat it every time I play. All I know for certain is that a world with good story-telling, simple mechanics, and a vast expanse of unknown to explore will consume hours of my time.

I've never retrieved the horn of Jurgen Windcaller in Skyrim, visited the End in Minecraft, or gone any further than claiming the Power of Kings in FFXV. Yet I complete every side-quest and collectible I can find along the way.

What are the games you've spent the most time in but haven't completed?
I don’t think an elder scrolls game is designed to be beaten. Same with dark souls. One of those games where the standard definition of “finishing” a game becomes irrelevant in the context of you going for a character build and see how the game’s world reacts to your actions.
I’d argue gta is in a similar boat.

Personally I have it on Steam, to play it here on the PC or take it to bed with a Steam Deck. There's no real differences between platforms though, just go with the one you're most comfortable at/has the best sale going.

Daggerfall.

I have so many hours. I have this bad habit of starting over every time I want to play. This time I finally have a save file I play when I want to go back to it. I'll beat it eventually.

Final Fantasy V. Everytime I get to the final dungeon I stopped playing.

Mostly JRPGs on SNES

I think that's why I never finish games because I don't want them to end so soon or I get distracted by another game. Or I take a break and forget where I was (Secret of Mana, Tales of Phantasia)

Gran Turismo 4

I've played it very often since I was like 8, but I never get to really high level stuff.

It might be favorite game to "start". Which could be it's own thread honestly...

Skyrim ( 500h+) Dragons Dogma ( 80h+) New Vegas ( 200h+) Chrono Trigger ( 50h+) GTA5 ( 50h+)
