Games you've played but feel don't exist

I had a recent experience where I was talking to my fiancee and was describing an obscure Spongebob game I played at some point when I was a kid, but could never find again. The only thing I remembered was a minigame where you play as Squidward climbing up and down ropes/vines that had clams moving up and down them that would hurt him. I was shocked to discover that she had also played this game and still had it. After she found it I discovered why I could never find the game.

It turns out that the PC version of Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom is completely different from the more famous console version. Because I had become familiar with the console version, any time I looked up a list of Spongebob games, I just dismissed BFBB on PC because I assumed it was the same and I already knew that wasn't it.

Here is a youtube video with that Squidward game I mentioned (it shows up about 5 minutes in):

I grew up playing BFBB's PC game as well! As a kid I enjoyed it, but haven't gotten back to it in a very long time.

I recall playing a Avatar TLA PC flash game that was some sort of tie-in for the M. Night Shyamalan movie. There might've also been an Ad placement for some sort of food or drink within the game, but my memory is quite foggy on the specifics. I know I've played it, since I remember I had the game bookmarked on the PC I used at the time, but I can't remember much else regarding the game.

I can't find any details about the game online, either. I only remember playing as Aang while on some sort of iceberg or snowy location. The game was in 3D.

When Minecraft wasn't on consoles there used to be clones made on the Xbox Live Arcade marketplace like Total Miner Forge. Massively popular for a few minutes and completely forgotten and gone the next.

found it at age 12 in my uncle attic played it and completely erased it from my memory after lol

It seems that I've found the game I had mentioned in this thread. The title is Topps Candy Quest - The Last Airbender. I'm pretty surprised how much of the game I had remembered, if I'm being honest. It has been 15 years since the movie's release, after all.

A little gem called Devotion which did exist but was booted out of existence

Not a game I've played, but I remember when I bought "Tomb Raider 2" for the pc (my first videogame, I only knew about that one because of ads, my parents decided to buy a pc and so they knew less than me about games...); in the shop there were many pc games, one in particular I had my eyes on but for some reason I've never bought it and of course I don't know the title.

I remember a medieval-fantasy setting with dragons and knights, those kinds of things, and I think it was menu-involved for what I remember of the screenshots on the box... years later I tried many times to google it with every possible keyword coming to mind, but never been able to see (or maybe recognise) those screenshots again.

Also, those boxed games were a series of "best of", kinda like "platinum" on ps2, so it should not be some obscure title, but still I have never been able to find it again.

Brasil had a magazine called digerati that came with CDs with hundreds of flash games and whatnot. Their contents often were extremely dubious and cursed. Maybe one day I can dig for a few of then.

Theres ALOT of shovelware on the wii and whenever i mention these games to people, i always get a look of, "What in the hell is that?"
the mere existence of this game made me cry laughing

Harvester (1996)
I feel like majority of FMV games and games that use rotoscoping have this quality but one example is Harvester, its just so fucking weird on top of all the uncanny animation and style
